  1. Replied! Interior pics since there has been some new-found interest on the car. You will see some oil stains on the trunk carpet, some mulch clippings, and the car could use a deep detail. All seats, fabric, and dash are intact, and no excess wear on the driver's seat bolster, just a small ripple. There are scuffs and scratches on paneling here and there, as the car has been a daily driver for 15 years. $4,000 is FIRM; if you are not willing to pay this, please do no bother. Do not show up with "All I have is $3,000 on me" and waste both of our time. This price is already low enough, IMO. Thanks everyone!
  2. Still for sale. Just drove it again yesterday, runs and drives like a dream. If I can't get near the current asking price, it's worth more to me to just keep as a spare / fun car. It's still dependable, rowdy, and hauls stuff for me. It always fires right up and drives without a fuss. I've got around $16,000 in it (including what I paid for it), and there's very little mechanically wrong with it. I will not be letting it go for pennies. If you're looking for a dirt cheap roller to do a build / swap on, this is not it.
  3. Huge Price Drop to $4000. Had a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) performed at Yates-Auto in Airpark (Gaithersburg, MD) (Andrew Yates, founder of Andrewtech). "Compression: ~125psi on all cylinders, Leakdown less than 6% on all cylinders. Verified correct cam timing." The engine is sound. Transmission is sound. Needs suspension soon (rusty) and oil filter housing gasket is starting to weep. Bad news from PPI (co-diagnosed by Andrew and Jermaine from TurboXS): The car needs a top-feed fuel system conversion. Yates quoted this around $2000 total (parts + labor) for fuel lines, fuel rails, ID 1000 injectors, etc. The DW 850cc side-feed injectors are inconsistent on the rich side. On some WOT pulls, the injectors will throw the right amount of fuel, and the injectors will throw too much fuel on other pulls. A/F has never been lean. No boost or vacuum leaks were found anywhere. This does not really affect daily-drivability. I've had this fuel system on the car for almost a decade, but there is no longer support for side-feeds and top-feeds are much more reliable.

  5. Just went ahead and installed brand new brake pads and rotors all around. Centric rotors and Akebono ceramic premium pads (tired of dust).
  6. Added engine bay and undercarriage pics! Yes, those header heatshields are still holding on somehow. They can certainly be removed, the headers don't look like that lol. Got it out for a little TLC today, and still dry as a bone! Doesn't leak a drop.

I'm finally selling my 05 LGT Wagon 5MT that I've owned for 8 years. I've recently purchased a new AWD vehicle with plenty of cargo space and I no longer need this little gem. It's been a fun ride, daily driving it to work and loading it up with luggage for trips. Nowadays, it just sits in front of my house and I only drive it occasionally to keep the battery topped up and keep the fluids, brakes, and tires in check. It's time for a new home to someone who enjoys these cars and can give it the bit of TLC it needs. The exterior is about a 6/10; the paint is overall in decent shape, but it has some dents and scratches and the hood scoop is peeling, typical of a car from 2005. The interior is about an 8/10, only a few minor cosmetic issues. The previous owner installed an amp in the trunk and a rudimentary single-din head unit in the cubby space with AUX capability. He also replaced the speakers, but the rear speakers do not work. The Good: - Runs and drives great, it's never left me stranded. - Doesn't leak or burn anything. There is always a slight smell of burnt oil in the exhaust, but that is typical of a catless EJ25X and I never have to top it up between changes. - No body rust whatsoever. - The black cloth interior is still 8/10. All seats are in great shape. - A/C blows cold. - Has AUX capability. - All bulbs in working order. - A station wagon with 300whp. - Brand new brake pads and rotors Front and Rear. The Not-so-good: - Clunk from the front suspension at low speeds over uneven roads. - Rear window motors function fine, but squeal. - Undercarriage is pretty surface-rusty. - Rear speakers do not work. - Driver side mirror turn signal lens is cracked, but doesn't induce moisture. Been that way since I got the car. Cosmetic Issues: - Was in a minor hailstorm a few years ago and has a number of small dents in the roof and hood. I hardly notice them unless I'm really looking. No glass was damaged. PDR would have to go over the car. - Hood scoop paint is peeling off. - Passenger side fender and hood alignment is slightly off and has small dent from hood dropping on tool hanging out of hood. - Rear bumper has a scuff from someone tapping it in a parking lot. - Rear windshield has a small white mark / line at the top (a white jack handle's doing) - Black paint on trim beneath front windows is peeling away, Plasti-dip would easily take care of this.   8. Just installed the GS TMIC this weekend on my 05 LGT 5MT. GFB Respons, STI Up pipe, Perrin DP, FMS Catback, VF40. I was having an issue with -2.10 degrees of FKL in boost, which Dave @ Cryotune told me could certainly be a leaking/separated stock intercooler. Lo and behold, I install the GS TMIC, reset the ECU, DAM becomes 1.00 after about 5 minutes of driving, and all fine knock learning has subsided. There is no longer a hesitation from 3-4k RPM, the Cobb AP registers no knocking, and I'm a happy boy. All in all, the install wasn't too bad, although the silicone couplers were a pain to get seated correctly (fair enough, as it's pretty tight up there). I have my GFB Respons BOV sitting on the IC, no fitment or rubbing issues of any sort.
  9. I meant to post a review for Dave much earlier than this, but here we go. I ordered a Stage 2 93 oct tune from Dave @ Cryotune around late August of 2014. I previously had a Cobb Stage 2 OTS tune on the car, and it acted a little bit funny sometimes. Some of my symptoms included: soft misfires at idle, random inconsistent boosting, among other little things. After changing my spark plugs to the NGKs that Dave recommended, paying the small fee that he charges for his outstanding work and customer service, a base map, and six or seven revisions, the car has been running great! I'm getting an extra pound of boost, and what feels like much more reliably. My idle has cleared up a bit, boost is always consistent, and even partial throttle situations feel much more controllable and smoother. Dave was always very quick to respond, even when I was unable to be. Working and going to school full time gets in the way of play time... haha. He was always very clear about what he was doing, what parameters he was adjusting, and ensured that my engine was going to be safe during the entire process. Whenever someone asks what tune I have on my car, I tell them that it's an E-Tune that was completed for under $200 They always reply with something along the lines of: "Ah man, your motor's going to pop! You need to get it dyno-tuned at (insert shop here) for $600!" I then have to explain to these WRX/Evo kids that Cryotune Performance does it right, and just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean they perform shoddy work. All in all, I'm in love with the way my engine is running. A million thanks to Dave @ Cryo!
  10. Awesome power. Jack, where did you get that Flex Fuel badge? lol Dave, I'll be getting a catback exhaust and sending you another e-mail for a Stage 2 tune once I get that. I was wondering what sort of power numbers can be achieved at sea level (~300ft elevation), stock turbo on E85, with upgraded injectors and a DW65 pump. I can't seem to find a reliable source for an answer to this. Thanks!
  11. I'd really like to do this mod because I like the plastic end tanks, and even the plastic intake manifold, contrary to many others. I watch my intake temperatures and even after a 2-3 pull, they remain within 10 degrees of ambient temp, which, to me, is great for a stock IC setup (Car is Stage 2). I had a bar FMIC on my Passat, and the intake temps were upwards of 20-30 degrees above ambient. I'm not planning on going much further than an aggressive Stage 2 Cryotune, so I don't believe I need an upgraded chiller. (For now)
  12. Figured I'd just add a little something. 5MT, 71k miles, gear oil changed @ 25k/50k. Whines on the gas through 1-2, 3rd is where she quiets down. Any manny tranny that I've driven or ridden in sounds like its supercharged through 1st/2nd. Is this normal? Shifting through all the gears are smooth, though going into 5th I get more grind than I feel is normal. No whining at highway speeds. Could this be a soon blown 5th gear?
  13. Will very likely be purchasing my first Subaru this week. Silver 05 Leg GT Wagon, 5MT Non-Limited, Stage 2. After shopping around for a bit, talking to some people at Turbo XS and some other local tuners, they want $350-$500 for a dyno or street tune. That said, after reading not a single bad word about you, be on the lookout for me, Dave. Would love to get her off of the Cobb OTS tune. Can't wait to be a part of the family.
