  1. If you do this full swap along with LGT struts / springs you will have an legacy with different body cladding (and in your case a 3.0!). From experience, I'll tell you that if you throw a rear sway bar on there you'll get what you're looking for. If you go with stock struts, just pick up KYBs so they are new and of a bit better quality--stick with stock springs on these, anything else will blow them out prematurely.

That is kinda what I figured....so I guess the Legacies don't have the wandering rear end feel at highway speeds right?

  2. So, as far as I can see from the parts list and photos, there are no spacers that hold the rear subframe away from the underbody of the vehicle....correct?

Also, has anyone done this swap but used standard LGT struts? I am curious if the OB, once swapped to this setup, looses that stupid wandering rear-end feel....I want to get rid of that but I don't want to go the coil-over route. My hope is to go with straight LGT struts and springs...maybe koni inserts if anything.

  3. I'm debating on reusing my Yakima off my VW vs getting a trunk mount on the principle of how the Yakima Subaru clips are. I'm worried about wind noise, water leakage and scratching my tint up. To those who are using them can any one shed some light on it.

Hitch mount rack is the way to go....nothing touches the car and no wind noise.

Off topic: Was almost all suited up, both bikes off the car, stuffing the pockets with food, reach for the shoes....yes...the shoes....the ones I'd taken out of the car 2 days before....ugn....

I made a quick trip out of it and got back in time to salvage a decent ride on a gorgeous day!

  4. here's my 97 GT wagon. had to do some minor things to it like a full tune up, radiator flush, i restored the headlights, did some interior mods like installing new visors, repalcing a power window motor and regulator, new wiper blades, i refinished the roof rack and painted that ugly gray cladding black.

  5. ^ Love those wheels on the GRP. Especially on the lowered outback. I loves me some lowered outbacks. Maybe I need to get one to match my LGT wagon. :)

Thanks! I'm real happy with with how my wagon turned out....although it would have been nice to get a legacy so as to have the suspension be perfect and not a 'modification'. Although it handles great, the LGT would have had the proper steering angles and proper steering ratio that the lowered OBXT doesn't have. That being said, with that 4.44 final gear ratio, I merely look at the throttle the wrong way in 5th and that thing just bolts! Makes for quite the exciting romp around town too!

  6. Well....its done! I got my wheel in last week, put it on and drove around with non-functioning buttons for a few days. Yesterday, I tore into the wiring and got everything working! If it wasn't for trabbic's awesome original post and SVXdc's help with the i85 wiring adapter for my 07 p204uh I'd still have the stock 05 setup in my OBXT. This is probably the coolest mod I've ever done to one of my vehicles!
  7. Does anyone know if the Spec B wheel that is currently available is the same as in the OP's original photos? The one with the split in the leather along the bottom 2/3 of the wheel? I currently have an 05 XT with the standard limited wheel from that year but don't particularly care for the line (or split) all the way around the bottom half of the wheel. I really like this mod and as soon I plan to do this along with installing an 07 p204uh head unit and SVXdc aux in cable really soon!
