  1. When you take the side cover off there is only one moving part in there. Spray it down with choke, brake, map sensor cleaner or alcohol and q'tips. Make sure you don't leave any cotton or rag threads in it. And last but not least, clean the choke blade.
  2. I wouldn't waste my time, you must open the throttle Body. Why? Because I did all that. Bought a pedal and it kept doing it. My friend had a throttle body in the shop from a customer that decided to replace his. I cleaned it and replaced. WHAM problem solved.
  3. Update, So Fare so Good. After flushing the engine with 20 Quarts of oil, Cleaning the oil cooler, Changing the oil pan, changing the oil feed line to the Oil filter sandwich plate and getting a 40 micron filter for the ipt oil kit i have no issues. just installed a G/S TMIC in December no tune yet (soon) on the first turbo i didn't hear any spooling noise but know it sounds like a plane is about to take off. you live and learn, next up fuel pump and injectors and I'm done.
  4. Not really, I already have all door switches connected to my alarm with diodes. All I need to do is run a wire with diode to the wires on the passenger side A pillar and cut the brown wire and connect the brown dome wire and map light.
  5. I disconnected the wire, so the map lights are back to normal. i will run a ground from all 4 door switches to the dome light. i refuse to pay for a new BIU on a 11 year old car.
  6. No and I haven't disconnected anything yet. I removed the map light bulbs and shut off the dome light switch for now.
  7. got a problem, i changed my map light leds Friday to a brighter 3 watt led and today i found one was blown and now the lights don't turn off. any advice. i hope the biu is not the cause
  8. I change my oil every 3k miles and have an 11mm sti oil pump to feed the engine and turbo with plenty of oil. even though i did every thing you told me, to get the metal out of the engine I'm still worried. i took extra steps to make sure that the contamination doesn't kill the engine bearings. Graddy magnetic oil plug (aluminum nor stainless steal won't stick i believe), changed the oil filter on the ipt kit to a 40 micron after 50 miles and found some metal flakes. changed my oil filter after 100 miles.
  9. So why make someone spend $400.00 to feed a turbo and as you just stated and i quote, Bryan is also not the only one to insist on a replacement oil line to support warranty claims. key word support. I'm Done Here.
  10. Like I got denied , when I bought the turbo last year i was told by Brian that in order for the turbo to be under warranty I needed to purchase the oil line kit and Oct and now that the shit broke this year it's no, no, it's not covered. How is that?
  11. I find myself in awe when I see a business believe that you can control the market or that your product is better than some other manufacturers out there. Precision, Garrett, AVO, ect. Are you out of your mind. I'm glad to see that their are vendor's that honor there warranty and infamous performance should continue to make there oil kit with a 40 micron filter and the option of installing it from the top or the sandwich Plate.
  12. My advice from now on, Run your shit from a sandwich plate with a 40 Micron ipt oil kit (if mike has it) or you can get the filter from XPR.com. like i would have run it from the freeeeeeeeeeeeeeaking beginning if i would have been instructed too. The Blind Leading The Blind.
  13. No, I wouldn't warranty it. the difference in my case is that i don't have a hole in my oil pan. and it turns out that the oil leak that i was seeing by the oil filter is not motor oil, it's power steering oil.
  14. Well Bryan, what bothers me is that if i would have been told to do it like i have it now from the start, then it would have been done that way. if I'm told that if i buy something like a turbo and need to get an oil feed kit so it will be covered under a one year warranty and then the turbo goes then it should be cover. just like my kicker substation with one year warranty, if you install with a kicker wiring kit you get an extra year. it is running, last weekend changed the ipt filter from 10 to 40 micron and saw two metal flakes on it so yesterday i changed the oil filter with just 50 miles. also have the turbo oil feed coming from the sandwich plate.
  15. It happens, I'm not perfect. Google never gave me that result.
  16. Without upgraded injectors and fuel pump it's not much of a difference.
  17. OK Boys and Girls, This is an update. BNR 16G went Kaboom :nono:after 3 oil changes with the ipt 2.1 oil kit . sent the turbo back to BNR and Bryan tells me it's not a 16G like i ordered and payed for, it's a 18G. I ordered a 16g he sends me a 18G (SMH). so i"m under the impression that it's under warranty Apr 30, 2015,yeah OK. Bryan just charged me $385.00 to change the cartridge :spin:oil starvation is not covered and he's sending a -4 Line. But,But, i have a ipt oil kit Not Covered. So now Bryan wants me to get a Anderson Metals Brass Pipe Fitting, Barstock Street Tee, 1/8" Female Pipe x 1/8" Male Pipe x 1/8" Female Pipe $8.00 , -4 to 1/8 npt fitting and -4 to -4 Mail coupling $18.00, 40 micron filtter for the ipt oil filter replacement part# 704-404FS40 $46.14 From XPR.com so i can feed oil from the sti sandwich plate. motor mount bolts are seized to take the oil pan out, so i jacked the engine up and they broke . so a set of group n sti mounts are on the way $125.00. bought 15qt of oil to flush the engine, $65.00 (i have some filters). also Bought 10w-40 synthetic oil $45.00, gasket Maker $14.00, McMaster-Carr O-rings $17.00 Shipped, ipt order for some other parts was $25.80 and i had went ahead and purchased a Grimmspeed AOL $277.19 . For the amount of money i paid for the car and all the crap i've put in to it, i could have bought me a GTR . But at the end, The 06 Legacy Gt Makes Me Happy? WTF. With my self.
  18. Just did my valve body this Weekend with no issues. Man this thing clamps down hard, I hope that second gear smooth-ens out some. Other than that I'm Impressed.
