  1. I'm not too worried about the speedo quite yet. If you use 1010tires.com and go to their tire size calculator it'll tell you what the difference is @ 60 mph which is helpful. from there you could make reasonable judgements by creating a linear scale of how fast you were going based off of your 60 mph speed.

That though is down the road and I'll worry about that after I get some tires.

  2. Hey Guys,

So this is a bit unusual, but I went up instead of down on my legacy. Im looking for something a little more off-road friendly. At this point I've swapped the struts/springs/bits on my legacy gt for some outback pieces. I then also put a some subtle solution spacers on it to give the car another 1" lift.

Essentially I'm asking at this point what your thoughts are for a wheel/tire set up now that i have more room to make things happen.

Pictures for reference on how much clearance I have now (actual car)

  3. Yeah, look an like musing spacer.

Look and the bracket, it looks like it's bent upwards instead of parallel to the body/ground.

Nope. everything in that picture is Outback. It's my car and I haven't swapped anything in the front.

The legacy mounting bracket is straighter ---- I think.

hmmm... okay do you think that the bolt on the legacy gt is just shorter overall though? from what I remember after examining the bracket, it didn't appear to be bent or manipulated in any way. all of the bends in it looked like it came that way. I'll take it off though this afternoon and take a better look at it.

I'll also look into the spacer situation and see if I can't track anything down.

Thank you all for the feedback

  4. so are you going Legacy to Outback? Your LCA bushing also looks to be shot. If you are going Outback to Legacy you need the Legacy piece.

looks like you are missing a spacer

Yea, legacy to outback I noticed the bushings after I put the car back on the ground, they weren't showing before

And isn't that a legacy mounting bracket and not an outback one?

  5. Hey guys,

Recently I swapped my Legacy GT struts and springs for some 2009 Outback wagon struts and springs. Now looking at the kit I got it looks like I have the rear mounting bracket on the front lower control arm assembled incorrectly. Could any of you help me out with a picture of what your assembly looks like?

attached is a pic of mine:

  6. Now here are all the parts and the diferences.

Front spacer removed and the difference in the bolt is not the length but the amount of thread

Okay can someone tell me where this goes within the front suspension setup? Going back up and I can't remember/figure it out

  7. quick question, im going to look at some hankook ipike studded tires this afternoon. they were on a honda accord i believe for 1 month and then taken off. Im having them looked at to check the tire wear this afternoon, but is this something I should be weary of? thoughts on this purchase??
  8. stevens? on a sunday? lots of skier traffic, no?

Unless we head out of Monroe on Ben Howard Rd to Snohomish?

i'm generally up there every weekend so its no difference to me. i was just thinking about heading up extra early so theres no traffic, maybe a pit stop at the sultan bakery for a quick bite and off we go to the pass. let me know what you guys think.

  9. ok, this i know is going to be a stupid question for some of you but i just gotta be THAT guy. But here it goes:

What algorithm do you use to figure out what tire will fit on what wheel?

i know most people tend to look for a lower profile tire, but im kinda going the opposite direction currently with the winter set up and have been trying to find a good set that will fit and be a bit beefier. i know what the numbers on the tire mean, i just dont know make sense of them when they're all put together.
