Hey Chris, I'm in Sacramento and need to drop my car off at a competent mechanic and thought I should check the forum.

My '00 Legacy is having transmission trouble, slipping badly in gears 1-3, and the left/rear half-shaft is toast. I've tentatively reserved a U-Haul truck and trailer for tomorrow so I can get the car back to Denver. However, it would make a lot more sense financially to get it fixed locally.
