Hmm a 2.5 over heating I wonder what it could be lol? 90% of the time its the HG's sorry to say. Combustion gasses can get in the coolant and cause it to have a air gap right behind the t-stat with no noticeable signs of leaks.

Yeah I finally figured it out the glass had to be in the closed position. I just put mine back in with it screwed shut in the closed position.

Bringing this back cause im wondering how you got the rain rail out without breaking the plastic pieces it bolts to. I could not get the the bolts cause the glass was in the way.

I never been in a 01 and older impreza either I just liked the way they looked. I cant wait to see how mine drives after the front end is rebuilt. Ball joints, bearings, axles, steering rack, ps pump and lines, tie rod ends, and new exhaust/02 sensor also.

I always wanted a subaru I just never could afford the one I wanted. In 01 I really wanted a Impreza RS but they were pricey. If you search craigslist, subarus seem to last longer then most other brands.

I feel like these cars still look good for their age. No one thinks my car is a 1998! So you rebuilt? New head gaskets and all? I've been for a while so I'm not up to date on everyone's projects!
I think the second gen is still the best looking legacy.
Mine has 142k.
I was impressed with how well the car rides and how quiet it is inside for a 98 with high miles.
