yea they did none of that on mine. smog techs like bsing about cars. you talk to them like your best buddies and they wont sweat the small stuff.

yes cali does tailpipe and 2 speed idle. there is no choice.

A lot of the change actually makes sense. CA needed to move away from the sniffer test because it didn't work on newer cars.

 

The old sniffer test required putting the car on a dyno, but this doesn't work for AWD or most vehicles with traction control. Since any clerk at an auto parts store can clear a code, we all know code checks don't work.

 

If this is actually implemented as described, it makes it easier on people who are Stage 1/2, who can simply swap to stock tune and pass. Anyone running significantly larger turbos/injectors will have problems.

just cause you " clear codes " doesn't mean there completely cleared from the ecu. obd 2 vehicles store a memory of the code being thrown and clear the code and the smog test station is gonna check the rediness monitors. if there not set, automatic fail. there gonna make you drive the car to set the 8 rediness monitors. and yes if theres anything wrong that light will kick back on.

yes they still do sniffer test, stock tune. no sensor on up pipe.

just smogged mine, took my catless dp off. still had catless up pipe and a leak on the gasket before the turbo housing. i ran it on the freeway and got that cat real hot and left it running until he idled it on the machine. passed with flying colors. good luck guys

10 pm saturday night in dixon/vacaville. Was racing around on I80 with a dgm or maybe a greenish sedan with rally armours and a tow hitch. Nice car.
