  1. They never tried.

Your probably right! Emailed humbles suggestion with no answer back. I’ll try calling them next when I have time. On a side note, clutch fork just cracked in half leaving me stranded. 4th clutch and new oem fork going in as we speak. Had a used fork from OG tranny. Cars gone next year.

  2. Ahh sorry my friend! Eventually we all got to move on from the the 5th gen but many good memories and countless hrs and expenses to modify, fix and make it your own. Just lost the clutch on mine going on number 4 as well as one head job and a transmission. Only 84k on my 2010 but prob next year I’ll move on from it. Good luck!!

  3. Anyone know of a direct phone number or email to get hold of Invidia. Tried asking a vendor with no luck. I’ve developed a leak in the flex pipe of my Q300 exhaust so just need the mid pipe. Looks like I may have to buy another catback possibly but really dont want to go that route.

  4. Wtf!!! The shifter bracket on top of the tranny is bent to shit. How the heck does that happen? Is it possibly when I was trying to force it into gear from bad servos or are the internals ok and the bracket was the issue the whole time.

The new trans is working great but I’m having trouble finding 3rd and 5th feels tight. Maybe the shifter stop moved as well. Time to investigate more

  5. Mine just won’t find 3rd-5th progressively getting worse and cable, bushing etc all look good [emoji18]. Would love to do an Sti swap but don’t have the patience for it right now. Are you replacing or dealing with it for now.

Andrewtech has rebuilt two of my bug eye transmissions with 1-3 LGT gears ironically enough.

  6. Hey everyone, haven’t posted here in a long time. Hope you all are doing well! The poor 5th gen community has dwindled quite a bit as I’m sure they have moved on to other communities. Either way, my 6 speed Manuals synchros are getting bad, not able to find 5th sometimes, binding going into 4th and now got stuck in 3rd. Had to double clutch to get it out. I was gonna trade it in for and Rs3 or Tesla model 3 Performance but decided to keep her alive finding a trans 90 minutes away from me in NY for $2k with 77k miles on it. Luckily the install will be cheap as I get cheap labor where I work. Who else has had transmission issues on there 5th gen LGT? I don’t see many posts here.433ec8eb50f0ff114b6b83403796f872.jpg

  7. The funny part about many of the above posts regarding Tesla is almost every new car has a touchscreen. So...expect it to last 5 years and be thankful if it lasts longer. Elon Musk was just being realistic, every part on a car has an engineered lifespan because lifetime parts don't exist. And again look at percentages when it comes to failures not anecdotal inferences. If you are relatively easy on vehicles the electronics will last a very long time.

Yes!!! I’m praying the 7k tax rebate gets passed with the green act going into effect... then Tesla is a no brainer option. Tesla still has the best battery with limited deterioration over time as well.

  8. Tesla if you have a garage/parking situation conducive to overnight charging. Drove my buddy’s T3 and was impressed. The drag of the regenerative brakes would be useful in slow traffic if I was commuting at all under normal circumstances. Acceleration and handling were a lot of fun. Only thing I’d miss would be the manual trans (I’d be looking at the VW Golf R with the stick rather than the S3).

Yes, I have the luxury to charge the model 3 in my garage which is nice, 35 mile round trip commute to work 5 days a week. I’m usually not a practical person but I do like the little to no maint on the Tesla, even the brakes rarely get used under normal braking conditions. I don’t think I’ll miss the standard transmission, after driving stick for 25 years and not having to shift anymore seems relaxing lol! I do keep my cars for many years 10ish at a time so reliability is a factor. Pretty sure the Tesla wins in that dept. I don’t know, tough call.

  9. Well, with 82k on the clock, one head gasket replacement with cam installed and arp studs and running 22ish psi my 2010 lower end is on borrowed time. It runs like a top right now, but one day I can see an issue happening. I’m been researching either a Tesla Model 3 Performance or an Audi RS3. While I’d love the sound and upgrade possibilities of the Audi, the Model 3 is tough not to say no to with the small commuting that I’d do. Anyone else have any input. I test drove both in stock form and the instant torque of the Tesla and over 450hp is a blast. The Audi is impressive too but both stock, the Tesla shits on the Audi in straight lines and on the track from my researches. Hmmm... decisions [emoji16]

  10. Up for sale is an OEM complete turbo off my 2010 LGT. It was removed from the car with about 50k on the clock 3 years ago and has been sitting ever since. Would be a great donor turbo or used as is. It’s in great shape with only 50k on it.

$550 shipped paid via cash in mail, money order, check or Bitcoin. Once payment is received, turbo gets shipped out via UPS.

  11. I gotta ask, who in there right mind would ever buy the new 2020 legacy XT!!!??? It is fricking god awful in every way even the orange interior offering. I’m not being biased but the 4th and 5th gen turbos while being two completely different animals are night and day in appearance!! Am I totally off here? I guess I hated the newer body style on the sti but kinda grew on me but these XT’s no way in my lifetime! So sad how they completely destroyed the car. Can someone else chime in please??? I can’t be the only one.. it is so terrible. Yup told you all how I really feel lol [emoji38]
