  1. My 05 LGT Turbo is destroyed looks like the internals went thru a blender shaft broke . So I bought a used outback for $2200 as a second car to give me time to do it right . New vf40,Perrin bov,Perrin turbo inlet, aem cold intake new oiline kit from Turbokits.com . So I'm almost done but my setback is the oil kit I received is a stock Oem replacement with the banjo on the turbo being a 1/16" orifice ? Does anybody know if this orifice is so small to control volume and prevent excess oil or oil pressure to the turbo?? Or does the 11mm oil pump setup require this for proper oil flow in overall, in a sense not create a sever pressure drop elsewhere? I can make my own oil lines just don't want to blow out the seals I guess ,is this a concern ? Someone please help with this oil pressure specifics .
  2. Under TurboPowerTrains by sticky there is a sttuter thread. It's about the fuel pump speeds and problems with voltage drops . I see that thread to be part of this problem possibly.
  3. Frank ster is right on theory and wiring . But I differ about the pump providing fuel from 1 speed to another with no problem . When a pump starts and stops you have lock rotor amperage occur . This itself is a delay in pump speed increase and as we'll a drop in voltage. Both could be minor but they are there for sure. My reason for mention is another thread the guys are pulling their hair out about stuttering idle and engine at different rpms.I see that problem possibly being the result off the problems were talking about here . And the energy savings yes they are there but if you are monitoring your engine with graphs for high performance tunes The savings are not worth the trouble . Racing is not cheap. Or at least we could put a bypass switch to the speed control setup when we drive hard.
  4. Different voltage at different RPM it's a giveaway the alternator ! Basically a higher quality alternator or power setup.but the easy fix is a capacitor for the fuel pump to correct the voltage drops . I also think keep the lines flooded go bigger on the fuel pump with a fuel pressure regulator run it full throttle and find the fuel pressure needed to make everything run sweet and go a bit over that setting and don't look back. Subaru has made this fuel system a science project guys I feel bad for us .
  5. Does the power feed to the pump have 2 wires for positive and negative ? If so there's friction in the wire or its just undersized or fatiqued. And if its 1 wire and to chassis ground for negative you got bad ground try runnin wire closer to the front somewhere . Just suggestions .
  6. Voltage drop could be the bigger pump is drawing to much power for the original relay which is sized for a smaller pump. Check voltage drop at start when relay is cold then some time later. Or bad wire to pump or even undersized ,I'd say relay but I'm not that knowledgable of the system just theory . And the varying fuel pump speed thing is very annoying in theory way to much brain power . You punch the gas and the fuel pump needs to increase speed from 1 to 3 that's nuts . No pump in the world provides instant volume with smooth flow and velocity . Just run it 100% I say keep the lines full . This could also relate to the stuttering thread in a major way . I'm just chiming in guys .
  7. Thansk Fish < by the way Infamous tunning responded 10 days later to my inquiry about getting tuned . IM gona spend the money for a plugin and not worry about a busy tech . Im researching I know greddy had a plugin tuner a while back that had a screen like a gps and all cars data temps and pressures were available 25 points if i rember right . and you were able to tune with it that sounds nice and dont need gauges like a hot rod .
  8. Im new to tunning ,I am a tech by trade though hvacr and industrial chp plants not that it matters here . But i can handle this I think with the right instructions. If I get the cable and download the flash drives , what is this exactly doing for the car? Am i gonna have full capability to change all parameters on my own and possibly not know enoughf to make a difference or blow the subi up . Im asking cus this thread seems to sound like something my computer programmer should be reading .And I just emailed infamous tunning maybe keep it simple ad safe. thanks guys
