  1. Realize that the JDM model went to the refreshed body style for MY'07 while in the US it wasn't until MY'08. That may be the source of confusion.

If someone with an '08+ wants to try out the swap, I have a Rev.D+ bumper hanging in my garage (no hardware).

Late 2006 we got the facelift legacy.

  2. Buying new here is a joke. I remember pricing the STi front lip and it was $1800.

A wrecker wont sell me the VB alone and priced 1000 for a complete tranny off a wrecked car which I would then take the VB off.

If I go ahead I might get you to source a used VB if possible and do the F1 then ship that.

  3. If anyone wants me to do an 05-07 valve body modification similar to IPT, I can do that for $250 plus shipping. At this point, this is a gauging interest thread though.

    Question ClimberD:

Is the valvebody standard ie the same across markets? so a JDM 5eat VB will be exactly the same as what you use?

If so what's your price to source a VB there where you are and then do the work and send it.

Seems pointless me buying a VB and sending it to the USA then have it sent back.

Removing mine is not an option as the downtime would be too long.

FWIW Rang Subaru here who priced a new VB at $6000. Lol

Looks like I will be finding one from a wrecker.

  4.

Besides, I'm already at a place with the WRX, power-wise, that I worked years and spent many thousands reaching (then dealing with) with my LGT. I have the power, the handling, the daily fun of a lighter car, with the familiarity of a powerplant I know and prefer. I tried to justify an STI... but it wasn't as nice a DD, and its raison d'etre and my goals were incompatible.

I find the two models very different although mechanically they are obviously very similar.

I could have bought an STi instead of my LGT but for one thing my Wife said she wouldn't ride in the same car as me. Not refined enough for her tastes and too racer looking.

Secondly I cant be bothered having every kid pulling up alongside me wanting to test their civic against my STi.

Looking in the mirror wondering if the cop is going to do a U turn and pull me over and check everything is legal on the car because its a flashy looking Rex.

Worrying that people are eyeing up the car whenever its in a carpark somewhere.

Having people look at me like I haven't finished growing up yet and driving a 'sensible car'.

To me driving a WRX is like walking around in a clown costume.

    Its far too obvious.

Nice to drive a friends perhaps on the weekend but I like my subtle LGT.

  5. Yeah well your ecu is freaking out because the air flow is all fubared and it doesnt know how to manage it, at all....

Went for a drive today and seems ok.

Makes me think something was not correct with the setup on the laptop and the program etc.

And there you have it. The explanation of why you are running rich.

Sorry missed this when I posted from my phone earlier.

Yes installed HKS filter and new catless downpipe without getting a tune. Car is really heavy on gas but no funny noises and drives fine so far.

I did order the OP2.0 which I now have, I will be emailing Shamar at Infamous to get started on the tune.

Did i get the data correctly though by using learning view just with ignition on?
