  1. Here is my rant, 4 years ago I bought my 2011 Legacy from a Ford dealership as well. I agreed to buy the car and a Ford extended warranty built into the price of the car. Low and behold the TC failed and needed replacement. Ford paid to have done. Now Subaru of America is offering to do the same. The extended Ford warranty cost me $1400 and this was figured in with the price of the car. I wonder if I should be paid for some expenses if not all from SOA?:spin:
  2. I don't think I'm going to buy another Subaru again. I've owned several Subaru's over the years and it's always been something..... head gasket failure, oil leaks, more head gasket issues, more oil leaks, and now CVT and engine oil consumption issues. I personally haven't had a CVT or oil consumption problem as of yet (87,000 miles currently) but I do have a left side valve cover leaking oil. I'm not sure when it started leaking but it seems to be getting worse as time goes by. I bought this car hoping to get 200,000 - 250,000 miles without having to put big money into it to get there. I'm not confident that this vehicle is going to make it as planned. If I knew a CVT replacement was $8,000+/- when I was looking at this car I would have never bought it in the first place.

First thing is never ever trust or take your car to Faulkner Subaru.

Replacement cost ballpark $1400 and you'll get 200k+ service.

Seriously travel a bit north to W & L Subaru.

They will be able to do anything required and responsibly.

    trust me.

  3. My 2010 Legacy is at the dealer now- It stalls abruptly at stops.

the CVT is not going into neutral if you keep your foot on the brake. It started just before 100,000 miles . seemed like bad gas. It felt like it would stall. Now it is too dangerous to drive. I have 117,000 miles on it. I called my sister who has a 2010 outback. She has had a similar problem for over a year. the dealer to her to put it in neutral to stop or pump the brake. This is a serious problem and should probably be recalled.

Sorry no a problem with the CVT but your problem is the same as my 2011 The torque converter failing to lock out at a stop. I just had it repaired at the local dealer under an extended warrentee contract I bought. 74k on my Legacy and the cost were $675 for the Torque converter, $50.00 in fluids and $560 to R&I the engine. total $1280.00
