  1. Just thought I would chime in since my tune is now complete :) to anyone who is trying to decide where to get a tune or who to use well I would say hands down talk to Dave at cryo tune ! I too have ran Into a couple roadblocks during my tune and he was very patient with me and never once seemed annoyed with the million questions I had for him. He was there for me every step of the way trying to help as much as possible ! He treats you like family and you can tell his passion for subarus / cars in general. He Defiently knows what he is doing when it comes to tuning a car I couldn't be any happier with the way my car runs ! I Defiently will be spreading the word about cryo tune and will be using him again in the near future ! Thanks again Dave ! :)

Thats good to know. I will be one of those very annoying customers who ask millions of questions. I've already started annoying Dave and he's been nothing but helpful. As soon as I can figure out my transmission issues I can repay him by supporting his business!

  2. still having some slipping issues with my trans after doing my flush. Not sure if its tune related or what. Getting on an onramp in 2nd (cruising at 40mph then flooring to merge) very delayed shift from 2-3(manual mode didnt upshift let the car do it). Didnt bang or clunk into gear like before just didnt seem to catch when it shouldve. Recently reflashed to my cobb stage 1 93 map. Tryed to repeat in normal drive mode and didnt seem to slip. Any thoughts?

ive noticed an electronic sort of sound when i'm stopped and shift through the gears to check my trans fluid. sounds like a pump or maybe the gears moving? not sure what it is, or if its normal, or if its something that could be causing my issue. dont want to jump to stage 2 till i get this fixed. might unflash from stage 1 and see if it can be reproduced.. then take it to the dealer. I still have a warranty (thank god) but if i cant reproduce it while stock im pretty much out of luck. btw thank you guys for your help.

  3. No idea about 2.5is but think I read earlier in this thread that they dont. Good news for me the second dealer came through! Fixed under warranty but I have 100 deductible for it so I paid 80$ more and wasted a lot more time than doing it myself, but found a better dealer out of it and i didnt break anything. I printed the first page of this thread and gave it to them. Told them about the first dealer too which probably helped. They didnt give me shit or try to blame my hogzaust and lwcp for the problem either. Glad its overwith and no problems with it since.
  4. I thought the TCU was constantly 'learning'? Maybe im thinking of something else. I have 100% fresh fluid and correct amount. Dont have a temp gague though. Slipped again on the way home about after 20 mins of driving so I assume it was up to temp. Held it in 2nd around 40mph then floored it and let it shift itself (manual mode). Might reflash to stock and see if it still happens.
  5. I'm no genius

I'm sure 100% of the users in this thread would disagree with that statement. I checked my fluid last night and it is spot-on :). I was really kind of wondering if it could be the tune (maybe my TCU is still learning) or if its because of limited or partial boost from the acceleration pattern (i.e. holding 2nd mid-gear at 40mph as opposed to accelerating straight through) I'm feeling pretty decent after no slips today. I'll keep trying.

  6. Alright- been having some issues with 2-3 shift slipping. I originally noticed it a couple weeks ago (completely stock, no tune), had it in intelligent mode & manual, merging onto the highway WOT (i didnt upshift manually). Slipped pretty bad and then slammed into 3rd. Figured it was because i was in and it shifts slower. Tried to recreate it, and didnt slip in S# (dont think i tried S). Since then i got an accessport and running the stage 1 93 map. Similar thing happened the other day merging on the highway- i was in manual- S this time, didnt upshift, and it slipped bad. Recreated the slip in S (both manual and auto mode). did not slip in S#. So my question- are my clutch packs wearing out or is the shift too slow? or a little of both?

I don't fully remember the background on your car (it's not you, it's that I get hundreds of PMs a month), and can't remember all the details of each person's car troubles.

Do you have a thread with all the details in one place, concise? That is the best way to get the best answer, other than searching (which is almost always better than asking for answers, but takes oodles more time).

Sorry Dave, I imagine you get tons of messages as you are the Wizard of the 5EATS. I actually tried to recreate the issue again today but couldnt. wasnt on an onramp holding at 40mph- straight acceleration and didnt seem to slip

  7. Alright Dave, still having some slipping issues with my trans after doing my flush. Not sure if its tune related or what. 8. Well i guess i will post my dealership horror-story about this. Been having this issue all winter. CEL came on twice so far because of it- running lean and misfires in all 4. Got sick of it one day and took it to the dealer. Because it had already warmed up, the issue was not there when they looked at it. told them i would drop it off overnight so they could recreate it. before i left i told them it could be the gaskets, and showed one of the mechanics (who i know) this thread, and he read it. I told them these were the exact symptoms i was experiencing, and they could decide whether or not the gaskets were at fault. The mechanic mentioned a way to check if the gaskets were to blame, and i left with the impression they would look at them. they looked it up and noted it would be covered by my warranty (and grunted about it), but nevertheless acknowledged the issue. Felt good about everything after dropping my car off. Got the call the next day. They tried to blame the issue on my LWCP and hogzaust. They wanted me to change everything back to stock before they went any further with diagnostics. After leaving there furious- went to the parts department to get the gaskets, but of course they had none. Going to call another dealership and see if i get any luck there, if not, I'll be DIMyself.
