Second Gen Forester, and Second gen Impreza
-
I didnt sell out completely. At least I still own 3 Subarus!
-
But... You're a traitor... So is Joe.
It's worse than me buying a Honda!
Says the guy who posted about buying a red WRX on igota....
-
I dont wanna! I cant forget my roots, can I ? lol
-
Just wanted to say "hi!"
Still loving my WRX by the way
Almost to Stage 3 now!

Bad thing about springs, one height. Hope you like it. lol
besides, i like stiffer for canyon carving.
-
yup, now there is.
The ultimos have slightly stiffer spring rates. Which I would recommend for a heavy legacy and especially for an outback wagon.
-
Which ones? the regulars or the ultimos?
-
Thats the only thing I WISH I had. I would like to be able to adjust something other than the preload and the ride height. But hell, for $500 they are well worth it. Even more so now that the build quality is much improved.
Had a guy who used to be a manager of a Suby Tuning shop in the bay area over to my house. He saw the coils on the gargage floor and asked if they were fortunes. He was even impressed when I said "racelands" and he looked them over and said "wow, im impressed"

Why are you guys fighting over shitty coilovers?
Im getting sick of people saying they are shitty. Unless youve owned a set, and driven on a set more than "well this one time my buddy had his GTi slammed" then shut the hell up. Come drive mine and see for your self.
In the mean time, stop insulting my choice in coilovers. It was MY choice and frankly it was a good one. So unless you or anyone else is going to spend $3000 on a "good set" to give to me, shut the hell up.
Also, I encourage all of you to read this before jumping to conclusions on Racelands.

In the beginning, they were shit coils. Now, much better build quality and ride. Dont believe me? Come drive my car.

Like I said already. I made a mistake. If you want to continue being a child and argueing about this, PM me.
Otherwise, shut up and move on.
-
Im not the one calling someone a "dip shit" so I think its YOU that needs to chill out.
Besides, I couldnt care less if you have respect for me or not. I get called names and get stuff thrown on my uniform by people like you who dont respect me but you know what? I do my job regardless, because I know some people actually understand what it takes to serve and not just protest everything and ask for hand outs. So the next time you want to try and bash me, my service, my devotion to serving this country and coming to your rescue should you need me, DONT. I dont need some punk kid telling me hes better than me on the internet cause he is the elite subaru know it all.
-
Im not going to respect someone who cant respect others. Simple as that. And when did you correct me before?

Heh. Okay. Just bought a set of racelands for my buddys 95 Legacy. 02-07 WRX Ultimos from raceland. They installed just fine for me last night.
My fortune Auto 500's on my 96 are 02-07 WRX coil overs.
First gen Legacys use the 93-01 Impreza top hat setup (Installed on my brothers SS.) How do I know? I work on all these cars.
Top hat bolt spacing for the Impreza rears are not correct for the BD/BG. Extremely curious as to where you can buy the 98-01 Impreza coils? Raceland lists them as 93-01 (as I am used to).
So which ones did you buy? Cause there are not 98-01 Specific.
Also what you are saying is that WRX rear top hats off 02-07 Stock struts/Springs won't work? Ha.
Sticky from another forum.
1995-99 (Includes BD = Sedan (Includes SUS) | BK = Wagon (low roof) | BG = Wagon Outback (raised roof)
/////////Front/////Rear
GC 93-01 yes///////no <-- Requires BD/K/G or GD rear top hat and matching perch
GD 02-07 yes///////yes <-- Rotate front top hat
BE 00-04 yes///////no <-- front = direct bolt in
Ok smart ass. I accidently typed an "8" instead of "3" excuse me while I call the NY Times and report a typo to the editor.
Secondly, as for you "working on all these cars"

Do you want a cookie now?
I think most of us here work on some if not most of these as well.
Also, I didnt say they wouldnt fit. Re read what I wrote before you try and come at me like this.
What did I say? Lemme quote me for ya.
the WRX ones are different.
You are right however, I made a mistake. Im human and man enough to admit it. I went back and checked my receipt from Raceland a couple years ago. I DID order the RS, but the 02-07 RS. My mistake.
Next time, try not to be such a douche when someone makes a mistake. Everyone does from time to time. Even you.
Heres a copy of my receipt, and a screen shot from when I bought them.

So you can see where my error came from. There are a lot of models listed, among them RS. My bad.
Also, if you look at the beginning of this thread it clearly states that what I said is possible. Some early model RS stuff WILL work on BG/BD models. So before you fly off the handle next time trying to puff your chest out and flaunt your plumage like a peacock. Make sure you know all the info, or at least be willing to admit you were wrong.
-
No, get the impreza ones for 98-01 RS
the WRX ones are different.
-
Im probably going to buy another set for the 02 WRX wagon Im about to buy too.
-
Love them, in fact the other night I slid into a curb and bent the knuckle but the coilover stood up just fine.
I will certainly buy another set next time I want a budget drop. I heard they just revamped the setup too, now more adjustable.
well worth $460 in my opinion.
-
Like I said, wont fit. unless you modify
-
04 WRX will not fit an outback or legacy sedan. you need the 98-01 RS coilovers.
-
just rolled over 162,000 on Brooke
-
If I get orders to either one of my top three choices next summer, Ill be putting MAD miles on my Subys. Ill be driving the 97 OBS a lot to keep the miles off Brooke but I anticipate at least triple the miles Ive been putting on them the past year.
Im thinking at least 3000 a month.
