Glad to hear it's still running well!
When did you open a shop Rick? I guess I haven't been trolling here as much as usual. Good for you and good luck!
Cheers!

Did you bother reading the whole thread?
Price is covered in post #31.
The most obvious cost is the transmission itself and cost depends on where you can find one.
Cost is also covered in some of the other threads on this.

Pics?
Great to see other wagons out romping at the track! Ryan can verify that I did an HPDE class and track day at PR a couple years ago. Haven't been back since. Probably should now that I've got a lot more power, front LSD, and better suspension for it.
I got mine new too. Purchased in June of '04.

Your assumption would be incorrect.

Just installed, perfect!
correct part # for newer Ipods is
H621SXA201, good luck finding one
it charges a 5V instead of 12V
12v will fry your equipment
Excellent!
Hmmm, I wonder if this will connect with and charge and iPhone4s. I've tried the scosche connector but no luck.
There's also a 12v to 5v adapter cable. Part number H621SXA300.

I too now have this unit
so where is the in for the ipod at?
Here you go...

It plugs into the Satellite radio input. You can't use both at the same time.
Are you referring to the Auxiliary input? It's wired into the harness. Ping SVXdc for a solution.
Cheers!

Yes, you can easily switch back and forth between tunes with the AP.

Great stuff indeed. Thanks for taking the time to put thoughts to keyboard!

And why exactly is this? I had the opportunity to buy the 002 version but wanted to confirm first, called you guys and the person on the phone told me it was because it was an OBDII vs. OBDII port issue.
Is this true?
It's because in '07 Subaru went to CANBUS for the Legacy.

Interested in getting a set of '05 (or '06 blacked out to look like '05's) lights done with either the full TRS retrofit or TSX lenses, clear corners.
Do you have any '05/'06 lenses in stock for core fee or new OEM?

I got mine on Saturday. Thanks Mike! Looking forward to getting this and my 16G installed.
Should I be putting some kind of sealer on the threads between banjo's and lines and filter and lines? Yes, I'm very new to this.
Also, what would you use to clamp off the coolant lines. I'll be installing the turbo without changing oil and coolant.
Thanks!

what is a good replacement for the stocker if you plan on staying stage 1 or stage 2?
Another vf40. Stage 1 and 2, by definition, use a stock turbo.
Thanks fair_side! That writeup took some serious time to research and write. I hope others appreciate it as much as I do!
Cheers!

which STi model? do you guys have a part number for this? thanks.
Any. Buy a used one from the classifieds here or at NASIOC.com as a new one is going to run you more than pretty much any after market one.

I broke down and paid a local independent shop to do mine on Friday as I had 4 hour round trip road trip today and I didn't want to be smelling burning grease. The axle they used was from DriveTech America (DTA). Seems to be a quality unit.
I kept my old one to rebuild. Turns out the boot wasn't torn anywhere. The grease was coming out from right near the clamp on the boot. I need to look closer but I guess the seal is failing.

It's been discussed in other places here that the suspension travel of the legacy isn't that great to begin with (compared to something like a BMW 3 series which has a lot more). So any lowering will further compromise this. Add in stiffer springs and it's going to feel like you've lost some travel because, well, you have.
-
BTW, cause of turbo failure: sludge in the banjo screen. I've used synthetic since I bought the car; I don't know what the previous owner used.
What were your oil change intervals?

B Monkey?
Oh yeah, my "Title". OK, that just got changed. When you get 2400+ posts you too can be a Burning Monkey.
It could be something else that's squeaking but the sway bushings are a good place to start.
-
The close up pics tells the story better than the profile. I am on Bilstien shocks/Rallitek springs, lots of front squeaky/suspension travel noise( like over speed bumps). I don't know how to correct the horrible noise. Stock was quiet and now I've upgraded to great handling and the sound of a model T in the front over bumps, but looks like a fat man is sleeping in the back...
That's the bilstein struts for you. Not the squeaking, but the wheel gaps. The bils just sit a bit higher in the front.
As for the squeaking, make sure everything is tight and then hit those sway bar bushings with some lithium grease.

I'm trying to figure out which tune to use. I have an 05 LGT with a AVO Panel filter, and STi up pipe (catless). Otherwise all stock. Should I use Stage 1, or Stage 2?
Stage 1.

Opps!

I figured as much. Just so long as we all know I wasn't the only one telling fibs.

Wait, what's a lair?

How to Install Steering Wheel Radio Controls
in Walkthroughs :: Performance Modifications
Posted
No, but I have noticed that the volume down button (maybe others but that's the one I use most) stops working sometimes.
I need to check the connections at the steering wheel. Just lazy. Would be real nice to be able to graft on some actual pins so they fit nice and tight into the connector.
Nope, can't help you there lilbrudder.
Cheers!
