  1. So I

    removed the door panel

    removed

& completely disassembled the switch (really didn't need to)

    Here’s what I found:

The drivers window switch is actuated by a "slide" type switch, while all the other windows, locks, an such are "rocker" type

"My" problem was a "plastic pin".

Being it's a slide switch, it uses a spring and plastic pin to re-center itself in the pocket.

When I opened it up, I thought the bottom of the pin looked a little too sharp. (Pointed)

I made it nice and round with a small file.

    Snapped it back in....

NO GO, same notchy feeling as before.

So then I "flattened out" the very tip, leaving slightly rounded sides.

    BINGO!

Works as good as, if not better than new.

I have a feeling I'll be doing this job more than once.

    Sorry no pictures.

    Notes:

There are 5 screws to remove the switch from the back of the door panel.

(Looks like 4, but there IS 5)

For this particular fix, there is no need to completely disassemble the switch.

Remove it from the plastic garnish, and you can pry the driver switch "rocker" off from the top.

Be careful not to break the rocker/lever.

Don't loose the pin or spring on top of it.

    The rest is obvious.

    Good luck!

*read all ^, then scrolled up to see where you're located*

  2. so the low-mounted reservior ("white bottle" by the radiator) is for READING PURPOSES only, and the high-mounted reservior (silver metal/aluminum container by the intake manifold) is for ADDING PURPOSES?...but if the engine keeps drawing from the lower-mounted reservior, then wouldn't the high-mounted reservior always be full until the white bottle's coolant is gone, but then it'll be too late because "However, if your expansion bottle ever runs completely dry, it will allow air into the system, and could allow the coolant in the sealed part of the system to expand enough under lack of pressure, to boil and overheat"...

Could you explain a little more cuz this noob's GT consumes about a cup of 50/50 coolant every month or so (5EAT with lots of traffic driving), thanks!

  3. I bought the Subaru coolant "just to be save"...mixed it 50-50 as indicated on the instructions, been adding to the "full" line once every few months, especially in the summer time, and I still got a lot left...expensive about $20 or so, but since it will last for more than a few years, it's worth it if it's OEM.
  4. The big turbo helps out alot... I told the wife it was a gas saving mod....

now why is THIS the first time that I've heard about a big turbo helping with gas :icon_conf ....*runs to wife, "can I get a bigger turbo???...it saves gas :D".....slap!*

*I really didn't know about bigger turbo saving gas.....

  5. Hi All,

Great wheels everyone! :) I saw a request earlier but there were a few posts that Photobucket took down, so here's my request:

    * Does anyone have pictures (or Photoshop) a Silver LGT + Gold Wheels? (Advan TC-IIs or Advan RGIIs would be great) :)

I'm curious if that color combo would work (I fear it might look too "bling" or silly? (^_^;;.

    Thanks!

I think there is someone here with gold STi BBS wheels....I thought about doing silver with gold, but couldn't find a set that I liked that I could afford
