  1. If you're my brother, $240 with tires from a friend's sti .

I need to find me a set.

I got me a set for $450 with about 30% tread left on some bridgestone potenza's.

but it you look back a few pages, you can see that they were drilled, so I got rid of them. looking for a new set now... :icon_frow

  2. What's the going rate for a set of these? I've got a line on a set for about $800 with tires (not sure what type of tires yet). Actually, I haven't even seen the wheels yet at all, but curious about pricing

I think it really depends on the condition they are in. Probably anywhere from $500-1100 is reasonable. 800 sounds like a good deal depending on how they look, as well as what/how good the tiers are. I would say jump on it!! These are rare, and are becoming harder and harder to find. :)

  3. pictures to show what this is about would be ideal but I think this is definitely something I'd do for $45 - I love the silly reflectors in the later 4th gen rear bumpers that I don't have so anything to improve what I think is a very boring back end on my car would probably be something I'd do...

I think this is only for the 08-09 legacy's with the reflectors. We will see, but I think it is to "replace" or cover up the reflectors on teh 08-09's. Don't take my word for it but I don't think this is designed for your year... sorry to bust your bubble!

  4. on my old wheels but enjoy.

Is that a yakima ? What's the model, if there is one, and where can I find one. I've been searching everywhere and can't find anything...

  5. You should sell them as "lightest BBS wheels on the market"

That sucks man those look amazing on your car, really a shame the previous owner did that...

 I will do that! And yes, it is a shame he did that but I'm also ashamed of myself that I was the dummy who bought them...

  6. man those drilled rims are a bummer

    this thread needs a boost

Those look sick! I love the black on white.

  7. I really don't think those are sufficiently structurally sound. You got hosed when you bought them, for sure. Shame, because they look fantastic on your car.

They would probably be OK to run on a 5x114 car, but on a 5x100 car, I wouldn't even consider them.

Oh for sure. I wouldn't even think about selling them to someone needing 5x100. But I think 5x114 is fine.

  8. The best you can do is sell them to someone with a HUGE caveat.

Your ad should read something like this:

For sale is a set of BBS wheels. Original bolt spacing was 5x114, the owner previous to me took it upon himself to drill a 5x100 bolt pattern in the wheels. I asked the opinion of the following professionals: X w/ XX experience, Y w/ YY experience, and Z with ZZ experience. They all came to the conclusion that the wheels should be structurally sound. I'm selling these wheels AS IS. I do not guarantee their integrity.

On a side note, if you can't get rid of them, I might give you a couple dollars more than the scrap value to make a cool coffee table or something.

I like the way you think! Thanks, that really does help alot. Now I want a bbs coffee table...

  9. you should make the guy who sold them to you buy them back

I would but it was an impulse buy at a local swap meet and I didn't get his info. I'm the one who should have inspected them, but ya, it would have been nice if he had pointed that out.

I definitely wouldn't sell them if they weren't structurally sound, but from my research they're okay. AHHHHH... I don't know what to do!!

  10. The integrity of the wheel has already been compromised, I wouldn't bother.

Consider it a lesson learned and take them to a metal recycler or something.. if the guy that buys them loses a tire/wheel and gets a quick trip to the pearly gates you wouldn't want to be associated with it.

    Just my 2 cents.. sorry.

Well, that's what I thought too but I took them to multiple shops and they all said they are still structurally sound. One actually being my uncle who I completely trust and he has been in the wheels business for over 25 years. He would not tell me they are still structurally sound if they weren't.

I was thinking about junking them too and learning a valuable lesson because I definitely don't want to jip anyone and have them end up getting hurt, but the shops I asked say otherwise.

  11. Does anyone know (ballpark) how much it might cost to get mine fixed and ready to sell? By that I mean welding in aluminum inserts cleanly. I will then probably get them PC'd. I have a friend who can hook me up for like $20 per.

  12. Selling them, I asked around a few places and they all said that the wheels are still structurally sound and can be run on the 5x114 but definitely not the 5x100. Hopefully I can find some dumb fool such as myself to buy them.

    I'm thinking $500 trade, OBO.
