Starting with the bad. Just starting hearing clicking that I thought was the AC clutch. Shop said it was rod knock so will need new engine. Car does run but not planning on driving it.

Why I'm selling: Debate for me whether I should get it repaired as I have owned the car for 6 years. Shell is in great condition and car looks awesome so not an easy decision. Still at shop and going to get it towed to my home while I think about it. Have no clue on appropriate price but may get an idea tomorrow as the service rep mentioned someone at the shop may be interested.

2nd Owner. Automatic 2009 Subaru Legacy GT with factory Harmon Kardon speakers and working 6 CD in Dash stock stereo. Has Yellow Bilstean and red lowering springs (not sure if Swift or other brand as were already on the car when purchased). Everything is is stock. All power items work (windows, sunroof, seats (including warmer), AC/Heat). Has fairly new HID bulbs installed this year.

Cosmetic - Tint on windows is good (not purple or peeling). Paint is good; not major chips or damage. Interior is good (no tears or major stains). One part I broke is the by the shifter where you plug in accessories (radar detector, navigation, etc.) in the cigarette lighter. I just pressed to hard so it pushes in a bit but everything works.

    Maintenance:
144,7XX miles: ATF HP fluid change (3X drain/fill) done. No transmission shifting issues.
144,536: Tires - New Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate (215/45 R17) installed.
Brakes - Front and Rear ceramic pads. Resurfaced rotors. BG brake system service; Dot 4 fluid.
142,201: AC suction hose replaced. AC system evac and recharge (R134A).
    140,044: Right CV Axle replaced
Valve Cover Gasket, Engine crankcase breather hose, and Vacuum hose replaced.
113,163: Radior and cap replaced with upper and lower radiator hoses plus Thermostat. OE Blue Coolant.
111,487: Left Front CV Axle replaced. Replace sway bar and end links.
104,909: Major Maintenance of Timing Belt kit (Aisin TKF-004) and Water pump, AC Belt, Brake Flush.
90K Service: Motul Gear 300, 75w90, NGK Spark Plug Iridium, Rear Diff oil, Brake fluid,

  2. Amsoil makes great ATF fluid, loved it in my 08. Shifted like butter.

Thanks, may use that after doing a few drain/fills. Just wondering if I can use this BG fluid I already have (need to confirm it's their synthetic ATF fluid). I emailed Fred Beans and BG but bought 4 quarts of Subaru ATF-HP so I can do a drain fill and follow up again after a few hundred miles and maybe again after that.

  3. I previously had a 2008 Legacy GT Auto in the household many years back and purchased some maintenance parts/fluids from Fred Beans parts a while back. That legacy is gone from the household but I recently picked up a 2009 Legacy GT auto. I was going to do an Auto Drain/Fill and found some leftovers fluid I never used on the last Legacy. I lost the receipt details and don't see that I can check online on their site since it may have changed but it appears they sent me a bottle of the Subaru ATF-HP and compatible BG ATF which is just enough to do 1 drain/fill. I just want to make sure the BG bottle is ATF as it does not have a label. Anyway to tell by the bottle size and color?
