*scratches eyes* one of my first posts in almost a year. I bought climbers 5eat VB mod this time last year!...actually 14 months ago. I've been vf52 stage 3 since April last year and my tranny is as strong as ever. Especially in sport mode. Thanks climber, money well spent

Are you willing to pay close to but less than IPT prices (perhaps again) for a proper shift kit modification performed by fellow 5eat performance enthusiast ClimberD himself? Yezir!

 

I want to install an 18G + injectors next year. But I doubt the tranny will hold it for long. If you can keep the down time under a week, and the cost under $500, I'm in.

It seems like every other map revision I recieve from my tuner I get the message "unable to read rom image" from ECUFlash. Does anyone know what causes this?

 

FWIW I always double check the previous rev to see if it opens and it does.

Great write up. i have the vag-com cable and provided disk. I opened the disk on one of my laptops and it was blank, i thought maybe it was just for datalogging or something. So I downloaded ECUflash online and was salty when it didn't work. I sulked back inside, read this, tried a different computer and voila! Success!

It's probably easiest to get it on to the turbo studs first, then loosely bolt it up to the CBE and go tighten it on the turbo... it will be sort of self-explanatory once you get going, but put it on the turbo studs first...

When you re-install the DP is it best to hook it up to the CBE or bolt it to the turbo first?

reviving an old thread! Does anyone know if it is safe to paint the Perrin TMIC? I have a silver one and I'd like to paint it black. Maybe with high temp paint
