  1. Hey thanks for the prompt replies. My internet is down so no pics for now, Ill do best I can to explain in words.

Well I was taking my first look at the front bar last night so it was pretty dark. Yep, the length was adjustable and I just threw it on right now. Few questions: the way the black rings sit around my strut tower area...it isnt exactly flush with the body of the car, but seems secure. This okay? And, the bolt between the aluminum bar and the black ring area, that bolt doesnt/shouldnt be really tight, right?

And I guess I was supposed to mount the bar with the bend of the bar facing down, right?

  2. Hi, so I ordered the front strut tower bar from the link on the first page of this thread off ebay - the one for an impreza. Got the impression of impreza/wrx for front/rear after reading whole thread. The bar that arrived is aluminum and black, and low profile....but doesnt fit. Seems to be an inch or two too short.

What am I missing here? Any help would be appreciated.

  3. I didn't want to make a post totally unrelated to any car parts, but goddamit people why are we even talking about racing in a straight line?? As if that takes a lot of skill?? It shouldn't even be mentioned. I mean...you guys are really gonna put that much more power into your cars just so you can DRAG RACE A SUBARU?! Think about that for a second.

On a second note, I got smoked through the mountains by an old man driving a Honda CRX the other day haha. Not sure what he had but all I could tell were racing seats, a rollcage and exhaust.

  4. I think it's really all how the brake line attaches to the strut. WRX and Legacy SS brakes lines will work.

So in other words you can use WRX brake lines or Legacy lines.

UNLESS you are using H6 rear calipers which I *Believe* have 2 lines on each side.

Hence the confusion....because everyone who has upgraded to H6 rears, as far as I know, used 1 piece ss line per wheel (either legacy or wrx ss lines), not 2-piece per wheel like the car the calipers came off of.

  5. So for this WRX fronts/H6 rear brake upgrade....are people buying SS brake lines for a legacy, or for a wrx?

Or ss lines wrx front/legacy rears.

I read in cameroncamera's thread that he used legacy lines, but then the rears he had to set it up differently. How bout other people who have done this upgrade? I'm collecting parts now and ready to do it myself, but am wondering bout the SS lines.

  6. So I've been following this thread because I plan to do my brakes sometime in the future too...

Ok the fronts are clear: 2002-2004 wrx rotors, pads, calipers, caliper brackets.

Now the rears, the H6 upgrade for my car would need the rotors, pads, calipers, brackets off a 2000+ outback or legacy....

And did I pick up on the fact that, the ss lines for the 2002-2004 wrx will fit the fronts but I need different lines for the rears if I were to do the H6?
