i looked into those before getting a yakima off craigslist...their website is pretty convincing as far as the noise goes!

yeah, they make noise...i don't have a fairing (found they got in the way of attachments). usually starts up around 40 mph (again w/o fairing). lost about 3 mpg w/no attachments, little more w/them.

 

good tradeoff, though, if you need the trunk/cabin space

anyone here have a blue 4th gen lgt w/roof rack, hanging around diversey in lincoln park/lakeview? seen it around a few times...

saw swp lgt around 87th st & roberts road in hickory hills the other day...work @ that corner...

maybe so...but i bet i don't see another for awhile!

OBP, 05-07 with 08-09 rims...stuck in Obama's traffic on stevenson & LSD...

 

took me an hour and a half to get home, with a normal 35 min drive time :spin:

Yea mine are 48" and They are at just about the very end of the bars.

 

I got mine for free, if I were buying a rack I would get 50" bars.

 

i like the look, though...too many people have the bars sticking way out beyond the rooflines. it's pretty much unusable bar space, anyways.

 

is it more a fitment issue? in that case, i guess an extra inch on either side wouldn't be that bad. all the used racks i'm seeing are either 48" or huge...i could buy cheap Q's, and buy new bars, though
