  1. Not good timing lol. But she's been great until say past 6months. Haven't had to put much into her. She's been a great car. Got me thru so much snow and to work in all situations. Anyways---back to the misfire stuff----currently bouncing between threads and fb and such brainstorming which road to take. If I do undertake a repair I want to refresh as much as possible even if I can't go the route of more power. I'd like peace of mind for a couple years.
  2. Would this be considered bad or normal after use?

I changed the plug anyway and went for a test drive. It didn't stall while idling but when I got back it started idling rough again and the CEL flashed but went away... Gave me the p0302pd code. So it's still the 2nd cylinder. And it is not the plug, injector or coil.

    check compression imo.

i kept getting 302, and swapped ignition setup to cyl 4, which made cyl2 worse, then ignition back to cyl 2, and still idle miss, and then swapped 2 and 4 injectors, still missed at idle. gets better at load or part throttle (1000+ rpm or better, and mis seems to disappear, as not as bad and not showing up on cobb roughness read, but still a dead cylinder basically), but unplug and plug in coil while running, same with injector and no change to idle. ended up checking compression and found cyl 2 at 50 psi at b

est. cyl 4 gave me 125 psi.

vac leak checked and none found. no leaks found during spraying it all and watching a/f data and rpm, etc. yet didnt have ability to grab a better scan tool to watch fuel trims.

avcs and oil control valves etc would all cause both cylinders on that bank to act poorly right?

very informative thread. just read all 35 pages this am. theres a few ppl i wanna ask on a more personal level what they spent on repairs, and if thats cool can we do it via pm if you dont want it publicly?

financially unsure if i can swing the deal to keep and repair the car. but i wont knock the car. i love my lgt. bought it in dec 09 with 40k or less on it. now in september 14, it has 145k and has been great to me. no issues until recently. car is just now starting to need repairs in various spots. hell my roll center kit endured 90k plus miles and 4 yrs of dc commuting. oem turbo and engine. catless exhaust pipes, turbo inlet and spt intake and stg2 ots cobb tune. been good to me. yea it has blowby or excessive crankcase oil coming into pcv etc. now im looking at engine related repair or replacement etc with further diag yet still lein on her. (got a job further away than when i bought the car. never figured shed see so many miles so fast)

  3. very good write up and very detailed. going to look into doing this for mine.

side question has it been attempted to utilize an amplifier like that of a kenne bell boost a pump, where you can dial in gain to increase voltage? jw.

know little comparitively from ford vs subaru regarding boost a pump usage on fords and the dccd fuel pro controller mentioned above by someone else.

havent pulled my seaT to see for myself, but is that a transfer pump on the ds part of the tank or just sensor etc?

  4. What kind of downtime from your coilovers you gonna have? I know we talked before about trading, but if not talking a long time, I could probably part with mine (the rear LGT oem full assembly) for a bit until you're back on your suspension. (Keep meaning to swap to oem parts for awhile, but haven't had the time to do such)
  5. Definitely a good read with mixed info and findings and preferences. Might have me reconsidering my use of M1 5-30 (both in high mileage and syn forms) with either m1 or subie blue filter. But oci is 4-6k, with daily drive putting me at 2k-2.5k miles a month I'd say. Highway majority but stop and go at low rpm and speed for 5-10miles bc of DC traffic. Guess I might look into a OA done by black stone. Have 129k on the car currently and bought the car in 12/09 with 40k. Oem turbo and engine, haven't had the funds nor time to do the timing belt etc (plan on all in one swoop) but do check the timing belt and for leaks fairly often. Mild oil residue on the intake side of engine and removed one of the two banjo filters.
  6. She was or is. But I think now she's afraid of missing something and might of gotten used tothe getting up at 300/400 with me so I can feed and change and all to her so she sleep for grandma for 2hours until grandma is going to work to drop the kids off at daycare for the gf and I.
  7. Our 4yo daughter is in bed about 800pm but our 6mo daughter varies between 7-10pm. But They take naps during the day and I wake them up at 330/400 am during work days to drop them off with grandma. Lately our 6mo isn't sleeping they the night which she did since birth, and the 4yo is hit and miss on successful naps. I'll wake up as much as possible thru the week to take them on if they wake up, so gf can sleep (she is a sleeper, I'm not) until my body can't do it any more.
  8. Hopefully the pictures show up. Definitely appears to be splitting apart and when I touched the one little tab it broke right off. There is oil or other material that has built up along the seam. Saveable? I'd hate to spend the money on a new intercooler but I'd also hate to buy something that won't fix the problem. I'm sitting at 112k miles so I'm not shocked some things are starting to go, especially when I read about the issues people have stage 2.

Hey barmanbean mine has the same oil seepage. You know of the Diag and problem we've been talking about....root cause?

  9. No real rush, I would say within the next few weeks or a month or so. What ha have in mind?

possibility ima pull the cnt catless pipe off and reinstall oem. drivability issue/unsure if needs tune or have a sensor going etc. not to mention needs to be reliable...daily driver and little one on the way.

keep you posted. by end of month id decide for sure. debating swap this weekend or try to get protuned monday.

  10. Sounds like yours could just be knock. Have you logged at all? Knock count is only useful when you are logging it alongside rpm, load, etc.

yea have 4 datalog files. need to adj which parameters are crucial to log/watch and which i can ignore to lessen the file size. im thinking its something tune/timing related.

**do base maps exist or have they been made for an LGT equipped with catless up/dp? jw. still datalogging. thinking maybe a boost creep/spike issue but not due to boost levels but in the concept of the undivorced bellmouth of the cnt dp on a stock turbo/engine. pending map availabilty im tempted to reinstall oem two piece dp and retest/re-datalog.

  11. TYPE OF STUTTER/STUMBLE

    Steady throttle/Increasing throttle/Both: steady/increasing 1/2+ throttle only between 2k-3k rpm, mostly noticable at tip-in and around 2200-2800

    MODS

Intake: stock with k&n drop in

Exhaust: cnt catless dp, invidia catless up, stock header/crossover/cbe

    Fuel: stock

    Turbo: stock

    Engine Management: stock

Tuner and revision of tune(if you don't mind): cobb ap base stg 2 93 oct map

    MAINTENANCE

    Sensors changed: none

Plugs changed: less than 1000 miles and less than 2 wks ago

    Coil Packs changed: no

    OTHER SYMPTOMS

    Check Engine Light: no

Etc: knock count seems high at 25-40 in 1.5hrs in 45-50mile commute from dc to central md, but unsure if of concern after browsing cobbs site in technical/faq sections.

    RESULTS

What has and hasn't worked for you: nothing atm

If something worked, how long has it been working for: n/asuggestions? new thread? section to be searching? was wondering if there was a base tune that cobb or vendor had to possibly remedy issue. isnt acting like a plug/coil issue. didnt make a difference between 91/93 stg 2 maps. stumble/hesitate/flat spot less severe with the oem tune/map in it, yet it did it throughout entire powerband. on a 06 lgt mt with 90k. no issues prior to any of these mods. all mods done at once within the last month while it was down for 4-5wks for mods/maintenance and clutch.
