horzizontal headlight screw - tighten screw to aim light path outward
this was on the drivers side headlight, have not tried on pass side.

Update to my issue. Bad valve, machined heads, new exhaust valve guides and 1 new exhaust valve.
Car runs good with a smooth idle.
-
dealer claimed the valves had 0 clearance. I had a independant shop do a leakdown test, hot and cold, perfect accross the board. Contradicting results, what do to next?
-
jsmith-what was the cause of the valve problem?
brock-1st check the code. I have tried the injector from rockauto, its a beck arnley unit. seems to work fine. ebay has some as well.
-
i took it to the dealer because of SOA. SOA wants me to pay the bill for the teardown and depending on what caused the problem (bad gas, hard driving, etc...) they will then decide if they will help. dont really want to take that chance. dealer quoted something like $7K for a "worst case" deal.
other independent shops have quoted $2500 ish for the work.
car has 55k on it and the powertrain warranty ended nov. 2010.
i purchased the car in oct. 2009 with 40k miles on it. i have my records, but no records from the previous owner.
shitty deal, what to do?
-
had the dealer check the problem, they pulled the valve cover and said the valves had 0 clearance. definatley a valve issue, but it could be a burnt valve, or a dropped guide, not sure. they claim they need to remove the heads to find out.
car has 55,000 miles and this should not happen to such a young engine.
anyways, dealer quoted thousands to fix this, trying to get quotes from independant shops that know subarus.
any input would be appreciated.

swapped injector 2 (newely installed) with injector 4 and cel came back on. at this point im thinking its a valve issue. do these cars have a fuel preassure regulator or something similar?
i need to get this diagnosed but im out of the powertrain warranty. the car is a 05 with 55k miles. should i take it tot the dealer and see is SOA will help, or take it to a independent shop. I would hate to take it to the dealer and SOA doesnt help, then im stuck with a large bill.
edit, wanted to add that the car does not fire right up anymore. needs a few cranks to get it going.
could this be oxygen sensor related?
-
installed new plugs and a new injector in cylinder 2, the cel came back. P0302, and P000.
what to change now?
-
what i meant was should all 4 injectors be changed, or is it ok to do only 1?
i need to swap the current injectors to see if the cel follows the injector.
-
P0302 and P0000. swapped coil packs and the cel came back. pretty sure its the injector. the car drives fine, no abnormal hesitation, idles like normal. tried injector cleaner but the cel cams back.
ill swap injectors for #2 and #4.
it seems as though ppl are replacing the bad injector, shouldnt all the injectors be replaced?

no center caps?
are blank caps available that we can put a logo on?

dont have that with the pro kit, had it with tien h-techs.
it feels more as though the suspension has no travel over bumps.
-
mine have 52k on them. i may need to upgrade the struts. can you be more specific on what riding the bump stops means?
-
i just hate the rattles and it seems like the stiffer spring adds to this.
-
for all the users of a eibach pro kit or similar, do you feel the car doesnt absorb bumps/cracked up roads like it should?
im on stock struts with the pro kit, and while the ride is firm and nice, it doesnt absorb bumps well. is this normal?
would aftermarket struts help this?
damping "seems" fine, but i have not ridden in another lgt to compare.
-
Slickspur-i have the pro kit and do not notice any noises from the rear. im using the stick struts btw.
-
i recently purchased a set of eibach's from tire rack. eibach has started to make new sets.
-
car is beautiful. looks very nice
-
i think i need horzontal adjustment. do i tighten or loosen the bolt to move the light beam outward?
-
eibach pro kit here. LOVE it. the car feels like its on rails now. Barely any lean in the corners and not to harsh for a DD
feels like its on rails with stock struts???
-
i think 3/8" should be fine. i used 3/8" on the sedan and the rear seems high compared to the front.
slick-if you look in the msi group buy thread they have posted pictures of msi springs (essentialy eibach's) after a few weeks of driving. they settled and have a 2 finger gap all the way around.

this drop looks perfect. check page 23 & 25.

i currently have tein h-tech on stock shocks. i originally wanted the eibach pro kit. now that its available (eibach or msi), is it worth changing?
i know they are almost identical, but the tein springs have a bang/crash sound when going over sudden large bumps. would this be eliminated with the eibach springs?
Growling/Clunking noise in rear while accelerating hard in 1st or 2nd ??
