Max I live in a very hot climate with no winter to.speak of. Would Amsoil 5w-30 be a better option?

You misread me completely. It does not clunk into gear... it slides very slowly into gear, whether cold or warmed up. This is not normal because it is different than what it has always done.

Thanks Climber. I am not a fan of those types of additives, but if it gives me another month or two that would help. Gimpy my symptoms are it doesnt immediately snick into gear from a cold start. The revs go higher than normal and it kind of slowly gets into gear. Then on the road the shift point rpms are higher than normal and actual shift takes longer....like it is sliding into gear instead of snicking into gear. Hope thats clear.

My '05 is beginning to slip a bit. Someone recommended a TCM reset as it worked for him. How can that be done? Is it a dealer only thing?

Yeah Dave has been absolutely incredibly patient with me. My hardware/car issues are all solved. Then my old laptop just wouldn't work right. Got a new laptop so new OS and I can't get the software to work right. I'm not a computer geek so I just don't know what else to do.

I guess I am not going to. Despite Dave's WAY over the top help if I don't get some local help with this hardware/software I guess I am not going to get Cryotuned.

Something to think about...I devised and installed a ram air snorkel and tube into the bottom of the A/M open airbox on my Lightning. It made a difference in the intake temp. I cannot say in made more HP because a dyna test never show ram air systems improve anything. Seat of the pants I noticed a difference. Just something to think about.

18 months. Not sure on the miles, but daily driver.

When my turbo blew (cracked is more accurate I guess) among the many, many things I did was 3 full oil changes within the first 100 miles. Did it help? I dont know but i havent had to replace the small block. Yet.

Just a very quick note. I have been getting cryotuned for what to Dave must seem like forever. Even though he warned me initially he was absolutely key in me getting some specific mechanical issues diagnosed and repaired. He was also incredibly (think Jobe) patient with me while I muddled through laptop issues and my own inexperience with turbos, tuning, etc. After my turbo blew at Christmas 2013 and I did a lot of repairs & mods initially I paid a lot more money to a local tuner who though they got my car tuned, they completely missed some stuff that Dave was able to pick up on just from the data and my input about something mechanical needing addressing. He has given me many pointers along the way that were outside the scope of what he is getting paid for simply because it helped me. I am very, very grateful and even though we aren't finished yet I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone that wants to work with an expert tuner. Color me grateful Mark

I am finally going to be able to move forward. After only a baseline tune I found out what I thought was a vacuum leak, I had a bent valve. Arghhh! Now almost 2 months later I am picking my car up today. A little gentle test driving and I can record some data to send to Dave for the next step. This has been a long strange trip.

I have been in touch with Dave and am about to get started. He emailed me and asked "Go ahead and send me a full modlist including year,model, transmission type and what tuning software we will be using for your file *IE ap or opensource*" I have no idea on which file. Shouldnt he be telling me? What's the difference between IE ap or opensource?

How can I do a boost leak test? Is that just a smoke test under boost?
