They tint guy I went to ended up having a light meter so he used a tint to bring to exactly 35%, MA law; I'm really happy with the results. Sorry about the lighting...it was pretty late at night.

^ haha yeah I hear ya on that one. My friend has a g35x with tint that looks darker than 35% and he has never had any problems; I think the cops have bigger fish to fry.

Haha, oh I see. I'm going with a group of Legacy's to get tinted tomorrow morning. I'm 3rd in line so at least I will have a few examples before I'm forced to make a choice.

Oh, sorry if I offened anyone about the Blue...I know some people are sensitive about that stuff. I'm not s a huge fan of my Newport Blue...but I couldn't pass up on the deal I got.

Ugh, I wish it was a GT...I'm rocking the 2.5i. There's another car exactly like mine (Newport Blue, sedan, spoiler) in my complex, but it's a GT. I'm thinking that car is an '05 or an '06.

I didn't mean a day per car, I meant he reserves a day for all of us to bring down our cars to get worked on. Again, if he agrees I could create a signup sheet with time blocked out for each car.

Yeah, I'm going to play it safe with 40%. My Legacy is "Newport Blue" which is pretty light so I think 40% all around will look decent.

They used to have a really nice site with a bunch of examples and reviews. Supposedly, tint-king took over their domain name (solarsolutionstinting.com) which forced Solar Solutions to scramble and get up a crappy site with a .net domain. If this is true, I wouldn't want to give tint-king my business; competition is the best thing for consumers.

Solar Solutions in Bedford, MA just quoted me $180 to do my '08 Legacy with SunTek Carbon. COUNT IT!! Let me know if you guys want to try to get a group discount of them.

Yeah, $250 sounds high to me compared to what I was quoted last year. I'm going to call the place in Bedford today...I'll let you guys know.

True. I'd like to see 35% next to 40% to see if there is a noticable difference. How about the clear "bra" stuff? My uncle works at a body shop and he has mixed feelings arbout it. It DOES protect your car, but it can haze and if you ever remove it there will be a difference of protected vs non protected cars. He had some guy come in with a lambo and had them do the entire car with this stuff...pretty crazy.

Nice setup. I wish they had an '08 on the lot that had the dark interior. Oh well, at least my seats wont fry my ass in the summer.

I'm deff in for a group buy. I'm pretty sure I want to go with SunTek Carbon tint (I've heard and seen good things). I'm trying to get in touch with Solar Solutions (Bedford, MA) because he uses SunTek Carbon and he gave me a really good quote on my last car...I think it was $150 for my '07 VW Rabbit. I'll keep you guys posted. What have you guys done in the past for tint? I don't want the po-po pulling me over everyday due to my tint. I think MA limit is like 35% but I'm pretty sure the factory glass has a VERY light UV/tint which may push me over the limit when combined with the aftermarket stuff. Not sure if I should go 35% or 40%. Thoughts?

Thanks for the welcome! Not sure yet about audio upgrades. I'm really not a fan of the stock stereo but (as you know) it's integrated into the dash. I haven't really looked but are there any good options for me? I'd like to get something with true iPod integration and bluetooth hands free for my phone. If you have any input I'm all ears. By the way, I'm in Waltham too!

Hi all, New to the forum. Looking at getting my Legacy tinted...any recommendations? There is a local company out here in Bedford that looks like they do good work (from their site) but I don't know anyone that has had their car tinted here. The place is called "Solar Solutions" and it's over by Hanscom AFB. Any info on these guys or any other companies? Thanks!
