I just pulled my passenger headlight because it wasn’t working and noticed it has a factory LED headlight. I didn’t know that was an option for this year. Could they possibly be a retro fit from another year?

yes, this has to be a retro fit light, I have never seen one with LED. I have seen HIDs from japan stock. I myself have V-LED Micro in my stock projectors and the are great.

  2. Got my full ETS Front mount kit in with gaskets needed, Getting re-tune and should be solid. I will post some pics up of the kits here so you all can see it. I wanted the best fitting kit, and paid for it. Getting it all done on may 9th.

In the meant time My other 2013 NA legacy had a coolant leak I could not run down, I spent days looking for it. I thought it was the water pump or lower coolant hose. I had the care all in the air and was about to tear it apart and said screw this. My tuner could not get me in for weeks so I got the hook up at the dealer but still had to drop 1k that included getting a new key coded.

It was the coolant hose on top of the manifold that was bad, they showed it to me, and I got it all fixed. I didn't want to do dealer but with kids, life and work plus my knee's hurt from the the garage floor it was worth it lol.

That does make sense, I'm not sure if a cold air intake would give turbo flutter because I haven't seen anything explicitly saying how to get flutter but that would really be the only reason I would want a intake assuming that's all it takes. I mean if I spend less money on engine parts then I can use that money for appearance related upgrades.

If say I instill UEL headers with a downpipe and catback would that all still run on a stg2 or would the UEL headers require their own protune?

You need a Pro tune or you will be heading to short block city. These cars will act crazy if you add parts and no tune.

I didn't see the bit about a new intercooler being on the list, but I will 100% say that the GS unit was an easy install and the end tanks will not separate from the heat exchanger portion. Dunno how soon @NORULZleggy wants to part with his, or how much the car is driven this time of year, but maybe a convenient time for everyone to play musical chairs with their IC's?

My car has been and will be on a trickle charger. i have a daily for winter. It see's no snow and rain. With kids sports and work, it stays clean in the garage. drive it only on nice days.

if you can find a process west intercooler that was made for the lgt, I thought it was pretty good

They are good, I had one on my 09 WRX.

  5. The new WRX is cool, but my 04 STI would be the ONLY car I would go back to. To each his own, but I need to move up in car. So R35 would be my next choice. i also do not DD my LGT so It only has 145K with fresh build and tune. I have to keep this till the kids are about out of high school and wife out of nursing school. I also only pay cash. So it will be a while.

I hope you tune that baby, Go check out Heavy metal Rex on youtube. he is close to me and has a VA that is tuned and it crazy quick.

I thought you knew to follow my build. I think you know to see my "click here" link. I ran that ej257 on stock fueling tuned on ESP's dyno at 21psi with the vf52. The stock injectors had over 306,000 miles when I sold the wagon.

It really is that easy. The ej257 was still great some 150,000+ miles later.

Please go VF52 at the least. Over build the car and then tune it for 320 and you will be very happy. I followed Max Cap, and added in tons more performance stuff. I search and got deals. I could tune it for more boost and power but, the trans and block would like it. You would be surprised how many feeling you hurt with that power. Oh do not cut corners, and make sure you add some GSC goodies to your heads.

Hate to admit it but at this point if I could afford a GR Corolla, (circuit edition) or a R32 I’d gladly jump ship on my daily 😬

100% the same, but I need the 2014 R35 track edition and I want it already FBO on 91/93 tunes.

Our current plan is to get the house paid off then buy my wife something new then I was going to buy myself something fun after. Who knows, I might have to get something in between all that.

I am in the same boat, I just can see myself with a expensive car and still have a house payment, and my wife needs to get something bigger next. So i will run the LGT till she gets hers, but we will  buy it cash.

  8. Well I just love the fact that no one in my area has an 2006 Narrow Body LGT. I really think it is a Cool car. I have no nanny features and it is a true driver car for what it is. I have 6k miles on full build and everything. As mentioned it is paid for. You would be surprised how many 392 ScatPacks get there feelings hurt case they spin and I dart off with my External screaming lol. Also with car prices crazy, I have two little kids, a house, and I just got my wife's 2013 legacy rebuilt there is no way I can go get the car I want.

I wanted and still do want a R35 GTR, my buddy daily drives his 09, but I can't do that. My car LGT sits in the garage cause I have a daily also, so it's different for me. It also has the sleeper look. From the rear It looks like a kid threw on some mufflers, but when you see the STI big brakes and they hear the turbo spool up, it's makes people think twice lol.

main thing I cannot drive something performance wise I see everyday on the road.

Check Fujitsubo.  I have the nameless 3" mid and y with Fujitsubo Wagolis mufflers.  They fit a little odd in the rear bumper cutouts (makes the rear look cross-eyed) but they're quiet under most normal driving.

I have a couple sound clip vids in that thread.

I have full nameless catback to a set of STI Fujitsubo legacy muffler and it is very quite doing 75mph. I can send you vids, but on the dyno and wide open they scream. it cost me about 1300 2 years or so ago.

I was more thinking that I may go FMIC, and the kit I was looking at costs 1k for the intercooler alone and another 800 for the piping kit.

    $960 for the 4" intercooler

    https://www.extremeturbosystems.com/collections/legacy-gt-intercoolers/products/ets-05-09-subaru-legacy-gt-intercooler-only?variant=19933310844998

    And another 800 for piping

    https://www.extremeturbosystems.com/collections/legacy-gt-intercoolers/products/ets-05-09-subaru-legacy-gt-intercooler-piping-kit

Who goes backwards when they upgrade, if I go fmic, I would probably not go back to a tmic setup. 1800+ for a fmic kit seems pricey, selling the tmic would make getting the fmic more appealing, if that makes sense.

Either way, I think the E85 will be enough to get me to my goals for now, hopefully. Its hard to put a number value on the hp goal cause I'm more accustomed to rwd setups. Awd hp feels different imo, and all I know is atm I want more hp. I am currently just shy off 360 peak hp/trq, I feel I need at least another 75-maybe 100. If the e85 doesn't do it, then yea I gotta start planning again.

I am going FMIC kit and I am going with the one you posted, is the cost high? YES but everything is high these days. I have been saving up for it and will make the money easy to let go of. Do I need this FMIC NO, but my tuner and shop was like get it and they are not even selling it to me lol. I also have the GS TMIC kit and I have extra hoses that I got from them. :)

^Thanks for posting the solution to the problem, and hope that fixes it for good!

Yes full motor out and rebuild, I made sure that all the factor problems were taken care of. Now I have my 60 LGT full rebuild and tuned, my 13 2.5i full rebuild, and my daily. better then crazy car payments. Putting on winter wheels and tires in a few weeks, and changing oil/filters.

So my 2013 2.5i my wife drive does have the FB25 engine oil burn issue, but I do check it often. I saw this because I decided to check. Is it head gasket? or what, i plan on getting it fixed.

    LegMud.jpg

Well the shop got the car all buttoned up and will be picking the car up this weekend. The head gasket was going, also the the car was burning oil from factory so it got new rings, rebuilt the heads with GSC bits. Car is now solid and ready to go. It was cheaper than buying a nice used car.

  13. I have had Tein SDS, and ISC V2 Street coilovers. I loved both on my legacies. I currently run ISC V2. People still think you have to spend over 1K plus to get quality, and this is not true. I could have bought any listed but the two i listed work great. I am not trying to out corner a GTR or a track car. My car rides very well and it's been year and no rust or problems. the ISC also have pillow ball mounts :) .

  14. Go with ETS kit and it will not remove the bumper beam, and you can keep the stock fogs. I plan on getting the kit as long as my other legacy does not need a rebuild. Also I talked to my shop about this and they were like GET IT lol. I think next year I will get it and have it installed. also precision has a big drop-in turbo that can make some power with out going rotated. I mean i make 317 on 93 pump. I hope with FMIC I can get a few extra. I am not looking to make close to that.

Well I have had it parked since I found the milk shake rad fluid. I am taking to the same place that built my LGT. Shame I not have to Daily my LGT :) . I will chime in and let you all know what it could be. The shop I sent the pic to did mention that it looks like trans fluid, so I am hoping it can all be flushed and taken care of. I have the CVT flushed few years back. I cannot see of find an HG leak myself.

So I drove the legacy to the shop and dropped it off. So far they checked the Oil, and trans fluid and they looked fine. They did a full flush on the car and got rid of all the milkshake in the rad. They are still checking what could be causing it. I mentioned PCV, and it does need a new OEM rad cap. They are checking the HG for issues and a possible gasket leak that might be doing this.
