  1. After over eight years, I finally got the car back on the road this past fall just in time to be garaged for the winter. With the weather warmed up and a few last issues worked out, I've really enjoyed driving the car again. It's been an incredible journey and I celebrated 15 years of ownership in January.

Build list in first post updated and here are a couple recent pics to enjoy. If you've made it this far, thank you for your support and I hope you've enjoyed following along all these years 😎

  2. As it turns out.... I have a pristine S402 CF front lip in my closet. 🧙‍♂️

Currently working on updating my build thread after a very long hiatus. I still have the car for the time being but finances have put me in a position that I will likely be letting it go very soon. 😭

Thanks Doc- and wow-what a resource Zero1 provided. really appreciate pointing me in that direction. Zero1 and I should have sister cars once I'm done.(if he still has it/threads been quiet as of late)

  3. For those Zero Sports enthusiasts like myself, I thought I'd put together a quick and dirty how-to installation for the V-Earthing and V-Effector kits on a USDM LHD BL BP.

In the kit you'll find the voltage stabilizer unit itself that cannot be mounted using both brackets as it is supposed to sit where the brake master cylinder and booster mate up to the firewall. Instead, you'll find a few M6x1.0 threaded holes covered with black factory dot tape on the side of the strut tower. With only using the primary bracket that bolts to the unit itself and not the extension, you can source some stainless steel bolts and washers at your hardware store and mount it up like I have.

In order of pictures I'll start with the V-Earthing kit:

    1. The largest wire will begin on the right (passenger) side subframe rail earthing point.

    2. You'll need to then bolt this to the right side head which I found a spot for under where the factory turbo inlet sits.

    3. Notice the alignment of the Zero Sports sleeve here* and this is where it can get tricky. Bottom of the pic is toward the front of the car and this mount needs to be on the short block so I found a spot just under the AC compressor bracket to mount to (will require removal of the bracket to get to).

    4. This will need to be on the left (driver) side head so I found a tricky to get to spot which mirrors the location on the other head for #2. Right side of the pic is the front of the car and you can also see a better angle for #3.

    5. This one is optional for either the back side of the block or trans (I opted for the back side of the block) and found a location under the throttle inlet hose. Notice the right side of the pic is toward the front of the car and you can see the blue tape on my throttle body.

    6. The end of the wire will go to the Voltage Stabilizer unit.

Next set is for the V-Effector wires:

    7. The 3-point grounding wire will start with the shorter length and mount onto the earthing location for the pitch stop mount to the firewall.

    8. This will then lead down to the starter earthing location.

    9. Here we can see the long end leading to the negative end of the battery terminal (wire on the left) and the wire on the right leads back to the Voltage Stabilizer (main battery earth off the back side).

    10. The last wire will start with earth to the left side subframe rail.

    11. Lead up to the starter earthing location (left side of pic is toward front of car).

    12. Lastly it will carry over to the Voltage Stabilizer leaving one open earthing location if you want to run accessory earth off of.

  4. Long overdue for updates. The interior is and will be even more so torn apart again for some changes. That will come after it runs again though...

Finally getting under way with the wire tuck and have a fair amount more to go under the hood but have everything laid out exactly how I want it run now. Motor has been back in for a while and collecting dust just like the rest of the car. Pic of the current ish status of the car with a few new items waiting to be or already installed now

  5. Long overdue for some updates...

The last year has been a lot of waiting for parts, money, and more parts. Finally getting to a spot where I can start putting everything back together and if only SOA would hurry up with their dash warranty I could have a lot more done :spin:

Upgrades include some suspension bits, brakes, lights, under hood goodies, new twin scroll exhaust, and a new interior. Here's a few teaser pics including a shot of the everlasting jack-stand racer, enjoy

  6. No rush at all man. Been tossing up between the avo and racerx front mount. Most people seem to have alot more trouble getting the avo one to fit but you seem to have done a killer of a job of it.

Finally got those pics for ya Andy! I had to trim a fair amount more on the bumper under the fog shrouds as well as a fair amount of trimming on the fog shrouds because I ditched the rubber FMIC hoses from AVO and have custom aluminum 2.5" piping instead. Hopefully the pics help you make a call on the amount of trimming :)

  7. It's been a while since I've updated the build as it's been at a bit of a stand-still since I got my car back from the body shop in June. Seemed the more I looked and inspected it the more things I found that weren't installed correctly or broken.

Needless to say, I have a long list of things I have to fix, modify, rewire, and replace. I've gone through a lot of the list so far but life gets busy and funds become sparse. I've got a lot of parts sitting around and a few to come before I can get it re-tuned and the body stuff re-addressed. I'm shooting for spring but who knows, no sense in hurrying when I've waited two years and only had it driving for about a month combined in that time. It will be an awesome feeling if I ever get her running again and can enjoy driving a car!

Here are some pics to tide you over until then :spin::cool:
