  1. Yeah the lack of air *pressure* up here allows us to keep idc's under 100% while using e85. Some say we are lucky but unfortunatly the lack of air *pressure* makes more of a difference than most think. Our cars run like dogs compared to the same car at sea level so i think i would rather just have the air *pressure*....:)

    Dave

So one would not want to drive his car thats tuned for up there

down to sea level then...... Bad things might happen ????

  2. For me, there was knock being detected, lowering my DAM all the way. Ended up having ringlands just sitting there, slapping around the cylinder between the rings.

Yep. EFI Logics in Bethel, CT.

By the look of the piston skirt, Looks like you were getting alot of

blow by. That engine must have been getting tired.

  3. I really dont think my current setup has anything left to give. MT stg2 LGTs put out 260whp on that dyno. I have an auto so i'm expected to dyno lower, 10-15 lower. I'll ask the question but i'm sure he'll say i'm tapped out at this point. I understand what your saying tho, alot of other LGTs are pushing 1-2 more psi than i am.

So in most cases what gear should the automatic car be dyno'd in ???

    2nd ??? 3rd ???

  4. Playing with a compressed spring ???? You should really pay close attention, I had

a spring compresser "go off" while install front springs in a 66 Chevy II. The spring

hit me in the head and flat knocked me down. Yes ..... there was blood..... Dam

that hurt and I still have the scar in my forehead. You guys wanna be very carefull

    playing with compressed spings.

  5. You mention the "learning view" utility but I think it deserves a little more detail. And I could use a sanity check on my own understanding of it - so if this is wrong please let me know:

The Learning View utility will display your Fine Learning Knock Correction (FLKC) table, which shows the RPM/Load areas in which the ECU has learned to pull timing in response to knock. It will also show your Ignition Advance Multiplier (IAM), which should be 1.0 but will drop if your car has experienced significant knock.

Learning View connects to your ECU using an OpenPort 1.X or compatible cable, much like RomRaider's logger. The VAG-COM cable will probably also work, and OpenPort 2.0 compatibility is likely coming soon.

For more information, and a link to download the Learning View utility:

    http://www.romraider.com/forum/topic2772.html

If you are tuning your car, you should use this periodically to see if your engine has experienced knock when you were not actively logging. If you see evidence of significant knock, it's time to reconsider your tune.

The stock tune will show small amounts of knock correction (-.35, -1.05, etc) occasionally in various cells, these are not cause for great concern. But IAM under 1.0, or larger corrections in the FLKC table, should be investigated. The Learning View thread (linked above) has a lot more information and examples to show how to interpret Learning View results.

Learning View also shows your fuel trims, which are primarily of interest if you have changed your intake tract or fuel injectors. If they're way off (more than 5%) you may want to address that, but this is another subject for another thread.

Note that resetting your ECU (which happens during reflashing, for most ECUs) will set IAM to 0.5 (or whatever your ROM has configured for the initial IAM) and will clear the FLKC table. Don't panic if you see a low IAM soon after a reflash. :)

There should be a thread on this subject. I use this alot for a

quick check up on the tune. On A/F#1 learning I have noted the ecm

adding fuel at the lowest 0-560 range. I have changed back to a stock

pannel filter after reading lots a Micky'd info. If your running 14.7 A/F all

over the low eng. load range why is the ecm wanting to richen things up

???. Its almost always adding over 5% Does the tune just need more

fuel in the area ??? Is the ecm adding fuel to try to keep at 14.7 A/F ???

The A/F is good in all other areas except the low load spot. This is

    a open source stg-1 tune.

  6. i was going to wash the car before the pics but decided you all need to know now. the front and rear wheel wells measure 25 3/8" front 25 1/2" rear to the top of the arch. i have Rota Tokyo wheels on it now 18x7.5 with Goodyear DS-G3 225/40-18 i'll say this one more time i've tried the popular set-ups and this one is by far the best for a daily driver if you track your car then maybe there are better choices but for the roads i drive on these work. better price than those rip-off Pinks, much better ride than any of the others, the stance is perfect in my eyes and no bottoming out for the pot hole infested jungle i drive on. i wish i would have used the Eibach's first.

    your results may vary.

Hey Bosco.... Where did you find your hood scoop ????
