Rode around quite a bit in my buddy's 2023 WRX Limited over the weekend. Loved everything except two things. It didn't have a sunglass holder (minor gripe), and the ride was harsher than I expected. I keep my Koni's at 1/2 or full turn on the fronts and 0 on the rear and love the ride. I'm wondering if the WRX GT would ride a bit softer like mine since they are adjustable as well. That would make DDing it way better.

I hated the ride in my 2015 WRX. Very bumpy even on smooth roads. One of the many reasons I got rid of it.

Anyone who removes the engine to replace the clutch on a 4th gen Legacy should not be performing clutch jobs professionally.

    I did that twice.

To be fair, the first time I was also replacing the longblock, and the second time I also needed to replace the intake manifold gaskets and install a pressure sender in the oil galley plug, so I figured those things would be slgihtly easier with the engine out of the car.

    Oh, and also, I wasn't a pro ;)

13hrs is a LONG day driving.  There is a reason DOT limits truckers hours on road per day.

I did a road trip to SF and back in my WRX in 2015. Longest day was Aurora, CO to Indianapolis, IN. I had wanted to stay in Kansas that night but it was snowing and the Vail Pass was closed for 3 hours while they cleaned up some accidents. I left Aurora at 9am and, around 1am somewhere in IL, realized I wasn't going to get to Indianapolis without a short nap. Finally got to my wife's aunt's place at 3:30am.

  4. So I haven't been following the multiple pages of banter.  I'm planning on just coming up Saturday.  Gonna use my summer half-day on Friday afternoon to wash the spicy Malibu, and I'm thinking it doesn't make sense to come up for just a couple hours on Sunday.

Besides said spicy Malibu, am I supposed to bring anything?  I guess I can look around my attic for old LGT parts I never sold

...thanks for the heads up @JJBerk, if this happens during the summer my LGT should be back on the road by then lol.

Hey, just bring the Lexus. I'll have my SS.

BTW, autocross schedule has been released -- the June event is the next weekend, so I am free both days. So far though, based on the tentative schedule, it seems like not much will be happening on Sunday...

20 owners showing up. collectively should be able to fix anything including a rebuild in a weekend :)

Before I got my 05 LGT, I had a 92 Infiniti G20.  Went to a Nissan convention/track day in western IA and broke a clutch disc spring.  It was a three-day thing (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and I broke the spring Friday afternoon.  Someone had a used clutch at the track... bought it from him for $50, got the swap done by Sunday afternoon, and drove 1000 miles home in time to start a new job on Tuesday. That incident was actually the impetus to me buying my 05... I wanted something a bit more reliable.  Hah!

@thefultonhow I am around 750ft elev.  But, we get the moutain  breezes all day.  Love the aquarium, not much of a fan of the rest of the tourist trap/inner harbor.  Saving grace is Lobster Rolls, sucker for lobster rolls.

Crabcakes, bro! Crabcakes! Get yer seafood products right! Lobster rolls are a Maine thing.

TBH most of the Inner Harbor is pretty shitty now. The pavilions are apparently only like 1/3 leased, and the management company is going bankrupt. Fells Point is a lot nicer. Frankly, at this point we go to downtown Annapolis more than we go to downtown Baltimore.

Baltimore sucks  everything about it sucks  the weather, squeegee kids on Pratt St. Baltimore County ain’t too great either unless you’re in Hunt Valley/Cockeysville or Towson.

Maryland’s speed cameras also suck

We could have it in Atlantic City?

Yeah, yeah, f*** you RZA. Nobody wants to go to Atlantic City. It's even shittier than Baltimore. Also, the squeegie boys are banned from like half the downtown corners now, and the speed cameras don't even ticket you until 12 over, and they're a $40 no-points ticket that nothing will actually happen if you don't pay

You ever been to Catonsville or Ellicott City? They have some nice old-town sections (although Ellicott City is technically in Howard County... But the old town is right across the line from Baltimore County).

Elevation.  Baltimore is sea level.  Normally in June the humidly has not yet "kicked in" and is rather mild.  July/August is more humid.

Downtown Baltimore is at sea level.  Up here in the northwest suburbs, we're already in the Piedmont like you are.  Not sure what your exact elevation is, but based on https://en-us.topographic-map.com/ I am about 650 ft above sea level.  It's cooler here year-round than it is at the Inner Harbor, but it usually still sucks in the summer.

That drive sux! 84 to 81 is way nicer!

+1, and TBH you're not really saving much time.  It's like 30 minutes shorter to go 287 to 78, if you don't hit any traffic on 95 (big "if").  Plus the Tappan Zee is $10 round trip, and the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge is $1.55.

Sup Jeni!  I haven't had a Subaru in like 5 years

I am still around! My WRX is my 2nd/3rd car these days  mainly driving a 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 & 2022 Cadillac CT4V-Blackwing (garage queen  )

I split my time for work between Central NJ & Central Maryland (Frederick), am pretty flexible with locations

Frederick, huh? We've gotta meet up sometime independent of this whole east coast meet thing. I'm like 45 minutes away.

Hilariously, I have a super busy summer, but all the weekends I absolutely can't do are in July and early August, so most of those May/June slots are fine. My guess is there's going to be a Saturday in May, maybe one in June, that I can't do because of autocross, but the schedule isn't out yet so I can't say which one. Right now, though, the only slot on the Doodle that's kind of iffy is the last weekend in June, since I'll be preparing for a trip starting the next weekend.

I am definitely down for Carlisle, since it's probably 60-90 minutes from me, but I could do something a bit further afield too. Let's say a maximum of 3-4 hours from Baltimore.
