  1. Williams sucking wind during practice. Both cars placed last. Kubica says he has no one to race against... sad to see a great team die on the vine.

Who will buy them and turn them into a performer? She seems clueless despite growing up in this business.

  2. I'm so excited that I might have to go to Canada or Austin this year.

Let me know what you decide to do. If I am stateside, I may go to one of those as well. It would be cool to meet either in Montreal or in Texas, as I have not yet been.

  3. Where do I get the time? Divorced two years ago. So single in my 50s, and I prefer old races to sit coms or movies, I guess. I watch some with kart racing buddies. And divorce means you lose social friends that take side in the divorce. So less social contact. Maybe I'm a racing hermit.

I've always enjoyed history and learning.. I love historic racing. Wish I had the change to get into it. I'm thinking of getting back into kart racing since I don't need a physical to do it like SCCA. So single guy, ample time even working 50 hr weeks. And I don't sleep more than 4-6 hours/night!

    And wtf is Roadkill?

Sorry to hear, KRB. Didn't know you recently got divorced. How is that new life treating you?

But glad to hear you are back at work - it clearly ain't resulted in you posting on here any less. ;)

  4. My 2018 Armada Platinum has the camera rear view mirror. The focus change from road ahead to screen in the mirror takes time to get used to, but it isn’t an issue for me anymore. Much clearer, wider, and fully unobstructed view. The camera is behind rear hatch glass at the top and is cleaned by the rear wiper blade. It is adjustable up and down, and can be zoomed in and out, thru the onscreen menu and there is no noticeable delay to how it portrays what is behind you. Love it... especially when the back of the truck is full of cargo or people.

F1 drivers are young and tech savvy. They should switch to cameras that offer better side and rear view without blind spots.

  5. Go Haas! Grosjean qualified 6th and Magnussen 8th, but Grosjean will start 5th due to a Vettel 3 place grid penalty. And Hass split the Red Bulls! Please don't crash at the start again Roman.

Lettuce has come a long way from his Renault days of trying to beat Maldonado in numbers of crashes per season

  6. I'm still sorry that Joey Dunlop passed away. And it wasn't on IoM that he passed away.

Darn - it was almost 18 years ago...

And with 26 TT wins and 40 podiums he was a remarkable rider.

Netflix may still have a good documentary on him and his career. A rider that had a 6th sense and was one with the bike.

  7. I’d love to be a fly on the wall during Red Bull debrief. Team orders should have been issued and Daniel should have been let go ahead of Max. I bet you that it will change next race. The amount of constructor points that these two have squandered in Baku may end up costing them tens of millions at the end of the season.

Verstaapen is a talented kid, but he has maturity of a 10 yr old behind the wheel. Freaking team management was fuming after the incident.

Good race otherwise. Would have never predicted the make up of the three on the podium until the very end.

  8. Vettel tried to keep the lead since Kimi had a good start and was on the inside. But it nearly screwed Kimi's race, not that he had the pace Vettel had. And Ferrari didn't seem to care given that they tried to use Kimi as a jam car to slow down Bottas so Vettel could overtake Bottas. At the expense of Kimi's race. But we always knew the pecking order. And Kimi has yet to show the pace to beat Vettel in a race or qualifying on any consistent basis.

I would like to see Kimi win a race or two this year as I expect it will be his last year in F1.

I can't be the only one who feels that Kimi is too mature (read: too old) to push like a kid almost half his age. It seems to me as though he has nothing left to prove and is there for the fun on the track and the astronomical paycheck. He hates everything else about F1

  9. Yea, Hobbs was great. Very entertaining dude.

Good race and a fantastic final 30%. You'd never predict the top 3 by watching the first half. Now, that's real racing!

Ricciardo is indeed the passing king of the current driver line up. He is so freaking late on the brakes and can thread the needle. I'd be shocked if Ferrari doesn't try to get him in Raikkonen's seat next.

  10. Good race, for sure. Still scratching my head over the VSC Vettel/Hamilton pit lane overtake. Certainly caught MB by surprise. Glad to see Ferrari being race pace competitive against Mercedes. Should be a cracker of a season.

Ultra soft tires don't seem to be able to handle much heat - looked greasy when pushed hard. Will be interesting to see if they'll make those tires available in hotter climates...

  11. Cute little story, KRB. I’m impressed with your typing skills while you are going warp speed on your white, wooden Amish built rocking chair in front of a fake gas fireplace (that you undoubtedly run at 50% to conserve natural gas and keep your bills down).

    Much love!!!
