perfect exact fit bolskey
Thanks! This just made me a whole lot more interested!
-
How well do the aftermarket 08/09 housings fit and look? I'm sure there's a few different ones out there and I thought I read one of them was a little wonky on QC.
-
The factory 5 speeds can't handle a whole lot more than 350hp apparently. I'm sure there's people out there with daily drivers well over the 350 mark that swear their tranny is solid...
Driven with respect and not thrashed at every opportunity, the 5mt can handle 350+whp.

ISC Coilovers
Shoot me a price if you decide to get rid of these. You can get them rebuilt in the country for cheap so seized or not is no big deal.
-
But its used now, since its on the car Had the car retuned for the EBCS and Intake, shame its only at 17.5psi. Oh well new car if I can do it will be tuned for 25+psi and meth.
How does it feel compared to old with the intake and EBCS? And damn you and your easy speed Evo aspirations.
-
I also have a grimmspeed EBCS that was bought from Bolksey85 BNIB if you need one too.
Fixed.
If I have the $$$, I may be interested in the wheels or the coilovers. Depends on where the cash flow is going at that given time.

Used AVO TMIC:
I bought it a few months ago with the plans of going to a solid stg2 setup come spring. After getting prices, realizing I have bigger fish to fry, and sort of being advised of a better way to go, I'm considering selling it. I bought it used but it was never on my car. It's in good if not great shape. I was even a little surprised at how clean it was. Very few bent fins. A few small scratches on the forward face but nothing more. It just needs to be cleaned up a little which I will do before shipping. I paid $525 which is what I'm hoping to get for it since it didn't lose any value sitting in my living room. I'll get some pics up tonight so you can see what she looks like.
Pics are here.

I'm still on the fence about HID fogs but after reading Fishbone's post in the brightest yellow bulb thread, I think I'll go with this:
http://store.candlepower.com/fcorespcob22.html
I kinda think my highs are lacking a little lately. They're actually the same bulbs in there from when I bought the housings used and had Sprank clear them back over the summer so who knows how many miles are on them. I can double up and do the high beams and the fogs at the same time. Just need to wait a few weeks for CP to restock.
-
I have an 08 Legacy. Are my DRLs my High Beams? Would that be bulb type 9005? What is the stick wattage? I wanna change my DRLs, but am unsure as to what bulb type I would need and what wattage I would need to get. Thanks for any help anyone can give.
Yes, the DRL's are run off the high beams. If I were you, I would do what most of us do and disable the DRL as they're next to useless and run a good low/high combo. Like an Osram 65W in the low and an HIR in the high.
-
Dammit, I have a fog inside of mine now. Damn humidity. Luckily, I should have the used OEM's I bought soon and I can have Sprank properly clear and seal them this time.
-
You'll have to loosten the bolts and position the headlight correctly before tightening them again. The same thing happened to me when I put my lights back in last time. I just threw the housings in, tightened the bolts, and put the bumper back on. The problem is that the lights have to be positioned in their happy place for the bumper to go back on with no gaps. ya feel me?
Got it! Now here's my stance. I bought some used OEM housings today from a guy on here. They're currently stock. I'm thinking of taking those, having a pro (Lightwerkz or Sprank) clear them and installing those. The DS in the car isn't too bad but the housing is kinda borked on the PS and it bothers me. Why take the cover off to just tweak them slightly now only to do it again a few weeks from now? I got the aim pretty close and they don't appear to leak so....
-
That is the result of the headlights not being mounted correctly. You should take a picture of the gaps and then take your bumper off again. Then you can loosen the mounts on the housings and adjust accordingly.
Like loosten the bolts and jostle it back and forth you mean? I think I gotcha. Have to try that this weekend.
-
Anyone run into a problem with having the housings not sit flush against the fender? I cleared mine over the weekend but keep noticing a gap between the light ass'y and the fender. Do I suspect the plastic bracket the light sits it or is it more at the mounting points?
-
Gotcha. Is it what I think it is in right turn (tightening motion) to raise and left turn to lower?
-
I have to do my 08's tonight. I went out for a drive last night and it was the first since my clearing over the weekend. They're way too low and need to come up some. Any tips on the newer style housings?
-
Be a man.
Clear them yourself. A child could do it. It's really not scary or difficult.
I did, go back a page and read. I'm not 100% satisfied with the results so I'm considering buying Ebay pieces, having LW clear those and reselling the OEM.
-
Lightwerkz is a rip off. I charge way less then them.
They charge $60 for headlight clearing. Plus they're in northern NJ and I'm in SE PA so I mail 1 day, they have the next, 2 days or so later they send back and I'm back in business in less than 5 days.
-
I did my 08's yesterday and this is my reults. Not perfect as I still have tiny bits of RTV and a few smudges on the interior lens but I might either pick up Ebay units for a professional clear by Lightwerkz and resell the OEM's or if I feel brave, reopen and clean them. If I can one word of advice that I don't know if anyone has covered it's this: do it on a warm or hot day in the sun. It makes the damn pop-its and bumper much easier to move and tweak.

I have an DGM 08 LGT and Im wondering if there is anyone out there with a winged trunk looking to trade.... would have to be DGM color of course!
My trunk is mint condition, no scratches or dings!
Damn, why can't you be closer?:lol:I would seriously be willing to toss an extra $100 to someone for a wingless trunk. $150 if it makes it appealing to anyone.

They don't throw more than 5ft past the car.
They're not supposed to. Fogs are used to supply low, flat light that extends no more than 5-6ft in front of the car for use in extremely low visibility situations, ie- fog.
