  1. My 05 LGT throwout bearing exploded for the second time at 251k. I picked up a new DD while I fix the LGT.

Its a 2009 Legacy special edition. 140k miles. I'm driving 90 miles a day so the AT non turbo will help on gas and be easy to drive.

I did the once over and found an unplugged connector under the coolant tank/ washer tank. Its maroon-reddish with small white and black wires. I am not getting a engine light and everything seems to work. Not sure where it goes. Ideas?

  2. There is a lot of crap out there. I would avoid the 'OEM' Bosal stuff and that other black OEM stuff on ebay. Complete Junk.

I ended up with genuine Subaru midpipe and mufflers. Not cheap but it fit right, will last, looks right and is QUIET!. :) I'm a little mental about keeping the car 100% factory anyway.

The original stuff I took off went thru 15 MN winters and 217k miles. Probably could've lasted another 5 years.

  3. So....

New VF40 turbo cart. and hot side

    New Grimmspeed up pipe

Removed banjo bolt - 216k miles still clean!

    New plugs

    New stock catback exhaust

    New vent actuators

    Next up:

    Trans/diff fluid change

    Clutch master/slave/hose

Car drives great now. Forgot what 13 psi feels like.

  4. Hey all. Been away for a bit. 212k on the LGT and still going but needs some help. Only making 8-9 psi real late.

All vacuum lines were shot. Hard, broken and loose. New lines from Subaru. Including that lovely PCV valve and its clic clamps.

    Wastegate flapper stuck.

    Intercooler was leaking. Fixed.

Exhaust falling apart. Y pipe hanger gone and muffler flanges leaking. At the shop now. Maybe patch it up.

Vent actuator stuck on vent only. Got a new one. Just need to do it.

Lots of clunking and bad tire wear. Replaced from arms and ball joints bushings. $

Otherwise the car is still nice to drive and looks good. My GtBoost digital gauge is still awesome!

  5. I finally did mine this weekend. I replaced everything except the water pump. I rotated the engine by hand and found where it was relaxed then I clamped the drivers side cams with a vice grips. After that it was smooth sailing. I took my time -slow motion- and was super careful.

    The old belt:
