  1. Thanks All.

Zen- Drive them both and see what you think. The Forester I drove felt good and the integration between the CVT and motor was top notch. That lacks a bit on the Legacy even though it certainly has more pep. Im still breaking in but crossed 500 miles so a little more throttle can be exercised (in my plan anyway) on the way to 1K. I'm getting about 27.3 mpg as well. I looked at Outback of course but traded in a full size SUV as I don't really need that much room. If I can haul 5 at times, I'm good. Me and grand-kids +1. Also saved a bit of cash on a Legacy Touring vs Outback. Deals can be had as they are not as popular. I have a good relationship with my dealer too. If you want to compare shop I'd be glad to give you my guys name who I have bought two Legacy's from. Have a good day....

I just noticed why you referred me to a dealer in Colorado! I have since moved out of Colorado but frequently go back. My contacts are at both Heuberger in the Springs and AutoNation in Centennial. Those are my go to dealers. My Forester was ok at best but I wanted something faster than the 184hp status quo. :).

I have driven the Outback XT and enjoyed the ride. I want to see how the Legacy feels being slightly lower to the ground. That’s what will be the deciding factor.

Hey I’d be willing to drive to Ft. Collins-ish for a good deal but I think I have that handled. If anything changes though I’ll toss a PM your way! :)

  2. Congrats. I have an Outback Onyx XT on order myself. ;)

Welcome back Ronnin3.6r. That name will have to stick and all the new kids will have to wonder what the 3.6 means haha. I'm setting aside money for wheels and suspension along with tint and will be hunting down some aero parts. Found a couple places in Taiwan that manufacturer for Subaru so we'll see.

Like Pilot1226 though I might swing for the Outback over the Legacy but I love the stance of the Legacy. Just sold my Forrester because what I thought would be just a ho hum car really got me itching for something faster. :). We shall see! I know my dealer real well too and can get both cars for the same price with equal trims.

  3. I wear a mask cause I care about my community. If I go walk around the neighborhood I don't wear a mask but come to think of it I probably should. Even without a mask people think I'm going to assault them so they make a bee line around me so it won't be any different. At the end of the day, better to be safe I guess.
  4. While I love the hood scoop, it does not add any functionality to the Legacy. Keep in mind the vent that leads to the inter cooler has already been designed and tested. I replied to one of Compressive Tuning’s posts on Instagram and they said no testing was done as far as cooler air or any kind of gains. In essence, it is just visual then. Might look cool but if it doesn’t add anything to it, I rather leave it alone.
  5. I have owned and driven a number of Subarus. My favorite would be my 07 Legacy GT. 315hp of fun and it was such a sleeper. I would do a turbo'd Legacy again. I wish they kept the GT moniker but those are just small details. I debadge my cars anyway. With the little amount I need for utility, I'll leave that to the wife. I'll take the go fast car and tinker with it along the way. :)
  6. Depending on which route you go, you won't have any problem trying to figure out where to cover "strategically." I bought a roll of the RAAMatt and was able to deaden the inner and outer shell of all my doors (liberally) as well as the whole interior of my trunk, and I still had some left over. The stuff is really easy to work with as well.

I need to read thsoe articles again cause I know a lot of people were saying dynamat was overrated, etc etc... good to know of alternatives. :)

  7. Here's an interesting site that may help you make a decision on what to buy when you want to do some sound deadening on your car.

    Sound Deadener Showdown

I think I clicked on this link some time ago but forgot...a lot of the things seem deja vu. If I remember correctly, there was a site very similiar to this that stated it is not needed to cover everything but to cover strategically where sound comes in the most. If anyone can correct me that'd be great. :) All good information though, I will need to re-read this thread and this one link.
