  1. I know this guy has to be on here

SWP 05-07 LGT with the plates COBBTUNED (i think)

    brembos all around

    looked like aftermarket wheels

Traveling North/East on HWY 80 you went through vallejo and I followed you up the hill till I turned off. I was in a 2nd gen outback wagon

nice car btw I loved it so much I missed my first exit to keep up and try to say hi

  2. so thats the front and rear for all those models? i have read many times that the 04 sti were the best fit for height

all those models share the same top hole positioning as well as the same strut setup which allows any of these models to share strut/spring combos with another.

As for the best fit for height, I personally think there there is no perfect hieght some like to lift their subies some like theirs lowered. If you are looking for a stiffer setup with the same ride height 04 sti struts/springs will be a great match

Ordered 10k/8k coils. Fortune auto 500.

Heard it is better to run stiffer front then rear on these

In alot of front engine cars (or subies) that spring rates will always be stiffer in the front compared to the rear because of your engine. but if you are talking about adjusting the damping settings on them, I that really becomes a setting where you gotta play with it to see where sit for you. My left my hipermaxxs in the middle for comfort and fun but i went through a process of figuring out what was the best setting for me.

  3. 04 WRX vs STI shocks/struts? or should i go with KYB AGX with H&R springs?

    WRX vs STI

Same ride height, but the STI Struts and springs are more stiff and that is noticable.

KYB AGX with HR's will be lower than stated above and more stiff since AGX's out the box are 10% stiffer shocks than out the box and with the lowering springs on you will be lower and stiffer.

they are both great setups it a choice of how aggressive do you want to go HR's being the more aggressive choice

  4. So take the wrx control arms?

Sent from my SPH-M580BST using Tapatalk 2

Its a yes and no answer to your question. in bolt up wise they will bolt right in, but as in size they are longer than your stock. They wrx control arms are made for the wider wrx whille when put on our cars they will give you excessive negative camber as your are pushing out the lower part of your strut assembly. You can use these and correct the camber with camber bolts and camber plate tophats.

If you have a set of the sti aluminum ones, better chances of selling those off and finding a set of jdm GC aluminum control arms. Those are the exact same dimensions as ours and will bolt right up

  5. so would you think the racelands can handle a couple trips to the track this summer with at least 250 to the wheels? also someone said something about different springs? can you get different springs on the racelands, per say stiffer ones?

That 250 at the wheels will all depend on what tire you choose for the track. f you are serious about tracking your car, I'd go with something that has a bit more customization such as different k rated springs, and dampening control. This way you are able to dial in what you are comfortable with as you advance in learning how to professionally drive.

The Racelands do no have adjustable dampening and only one set of springs for the coilovers. So you are limiting you self at these rates when you go out to the track and might end up pushing yourself to try to make the suspension work for you and not with you.

Did the rear top hat/camber plates with the Racelands fit on the BD (the GD version of course) or did you guys buy the GC version of the coils?

They don't have rear camber plates but I'm using the GD ones and they fit not problem. Only thing is you have to zip tie the brake lines to the coilover, but that is easy

Also curious about these "different springs" for racelands

Yeah they only have one set of springs out right now for them which are the 450 and 280 spring rates

  6. A noticeable mod?

Also I see you got racelands as well how did the build quality feel? I want to get some but I am afraid of breaking them under spirited driving.

I would say they are just the same as my hypermaxx's in quality, but the preload that the hypermaxx's had on them. these are coilovers that have had R&D put into them as the company is somewhat local nevada. I I like them alot like alot alot and I dont think they are going to break under some spirited driving unless you wrap your car around a tree then maybe one of them might have slight damage lol.

John, are you saying you need more than -2.0* camber!? I can adjust my racelands all the way out or in +/- 4.0* :eek

Can you take a picture of how your tophats are on your legacy when I bolted them up to mine they seemed wrong as the camber plates didnt align vertically but i know alot of cars that do the same. I'm just interested that all.

Since I my friend gave me his he had to use extra camber bolts to get his alignment to spec. I felt like the camber plates weren't giving out enough camber, but i will see once i get an alignment right now i know i got negative camber like a mother lol

I think 10,000 miles of potholes, canyon driving on weekends, and daily driving wouldve caused an issue if there was gonna be one. My $.02

seriously i use to cringe when i came to an unavoidable pothole but now im less worried

We will see how they hold up to autox.

Once summer hits and i get some new rubber I will let you know

  7. I'm interested in buying new rotors from a guy here in town that are OEM rotors for a 2000 Legacy. I've read about the H6 swap for the rear rotors already and know that it is possible for them to fit if I buy some new calipers from Autozone. What my main concern is if the front ones will fit my car. Can a person on here let me know if that is a go or not?

If they are from a 2000 legacy non GT/GT they are 276x24mm which is the the same rotor size as your 99GT rotors, then you are good they are direct replacements.

After 2001 they uped the size on the GT rotors to 295x25.5mm this requires the newer bracket and caliper to run the larger size

  8. So, if I cant do both at the same time... should I do the front or rear sway bar and endlinks first?

I'd say rear sway bar, would be perfect for a wagon as they have a lot more wieght that shifts around in the rear.

btw JAC Wagon did see this till now but you were trolling at in my picture of the stoneridge meet lol

Here is some stuff to update the suspension list

    coilovers

    -raceland Coilovers 450 bucks

    camber bolts

-Ebanchi camber bolts 17.50 for a set of 2

    Aluminum Control Arms

-JDM GC Control arms -alumminum and are direct bolt on

Caster kits (adds caster to the front wheels giving the car more turn in response

    -GTSpec anti lift kit

    -Whiteline Caster kit

    -Perrin positive steering kit

Brakes helps prevent flex amoung the master brake cylinder by adding more holding points to it

    - Grimmspeed Master Cylinder brace
