Yes, that is exactly what you think it is :icon_bigg

Why? Because tactical lever gun

    Marlin 1894 CST - 357Mag

    Silencerco Omega 9K.

Just wanted to do something different instead of another AR build. It is comically quiet with the silencer and 158gr 38spl.

PS: Don't worry, this is a new production Marlin. I wouldn't dare do this to an old lever gun.

  2. Think it’s time to order a KAC SR-15 and just get it over with. My attempts to price out an upper I want come close enough to the money it would cost for the KAC that I might as well just get the whole rifle.

Talk me out of ordering a 16” SR-15 E3 Mod 2 M-LOK. I’ll slap my NXS 1-4X24 FC-3G in Nightforce Unimount on top, and put an Arisaka light on the front, a QD socket up front, and maybe a barricade stop. Put my Vickers sling with sling ding on, and call it a day. The only AR I’ll probably ever need or want to use for 99% of my uses for the platform.

Possibly upgrade to a 1-8 optic at some point, probably another Nightforce but honestly the 1-4 does most anything a non precision AR in 5.56 is going to do.

Proprietary parts within the firearm make it a pain to service.

Depending on what you are looking for, you can buy a rifle that is just as good for cheaper.

  3. Trijicon HDs make a difference on the Sig P series pistols.

Would normally agree, but the Trijicon HD Sig P sights are extremely large. If you want a nice hi visibility sight for a P series Sig, would suggest looking at the Sig X-Ray sights. These are the ones that come factory on the Legion series. The other one to take a look at would be the Ameriglo Spartan Operator sights.

  4. AR-15 was used in Sandy Hook and San Bernadino shootings. Those attacks sold more guns - lots of people worried the fed govt would move to ban them. My state, Maryland, did ban them, but had a few months period between passing the law and the law going into effect, so lots of people (myself included) bought one while we still could.

Oh yeah. The shop that I worked at sold a lot of guns after Sandy Hook. The owner was a real ass, so he took advantage of the situation. He also got lucky since he had just gotten in about 120 Colt LE 6920s about a week before. We had a lot of people come in buy guns, not just AR-15s, but they were the biggest seller. The sad part is that people would choose to buy a gun instead of paying their mortgage or other bills. After everything settled down and they realized that nothing was going to happen, they would come back and try to sell us the gun. Unfortunately, as the replacement cost of the firearm hadn't changed, we would only be able to offer them a portion of that amount. This ended up being substantially less than what they paid.

  5. Other than shooting training rounds or flares, what's the point?

    1. It doesn't look stupid like a Spikes flare launcher when attached to a rifle

    2. It is freakin fun to shoot

    3. There are also other rounds out there. With a destructive device stamp, you can shoot anything through it. Rubber Buck, Smoke (and SAF smoke), Chalk, Flares, Wood batons, Ferret rounds, and others. You can also use the 12 gauge and 22lr adapters.

A long time ago, when I decided to get a launcher, I decided that I wanted to do it correctly and not just settle for a flare launcher. Pretty happy with my decision.

  6. How is the price of ammunition compared to its more common brethren?

Always more expensive per round. Around where I am, 9mm right now is about $.20 - $.24 per round. 10mm is anywhere between $.38-$.50 per round (depending on manufacture)

  7. Here is the Snippet of Ohio CCW

If the applicant has been convicted or has been adjudicated a delinquent child under the following

    offenses within 3 years:

o A misdemeanor offense of violence

    o Assault (903.13)

    o Aggravated Menacing (2903.21)

    o Menacing by Stalking (2903.21.1)

    o Menacing (2903.22)

    o Arson (2909.03)

    o Riot (2917.03)

    o Endangering Children (2919.22)

    o Intimidation Victim/Witness (2921.04)

    o Escape (2919.22)

o Discharge of Firearm at or into habitation or school safety zone (2923.16.1)

I like how most of these are all pretty universal within other states, and then there is just "Escape".

  8. Now, I know how some of you guys feel about SBRs, but i still wanted to share my latest build now that I got my stamp back. :spin::lol:

I also finally got the Sten cerakoted. Decided to go with a two-tone look. I think it turned out pretty well.

  9. NFA. Federal regulations. The thin buttpad makes the overall length too short. My suppressor mount is long enough so once it is pinned and welded the overall length with the thin buttpad will be legal length. So no SBR stamp needed.

I'm sorry, but that seems like a lot of work to change the LOP by 3/4 of an inch.

I swapped to the newer pistol grip when I installed the Geissele trigger pack and lightning bow trigger. I've settled on the .30 cal can so I'm going to pin and weld the mount and get the just released thin buttpad.

Out of curiosity, why are you going to pin and weld the mount? State regulation?
