  1. Hey peeps so it's been few years now and 2 lgt's this turbo has been on. I've been very happy with the results got my original vf40 upgraded to a hta71 and have been running supporting mods and e85 22lbs boost 400hp on my spec b and 420 on my lgt 5eat. I wanted to let people know what this turbo is capable of because most people do not or even believe this turbo is capable of this. I have my dyno sheets I will post.411/421 05 lgt 5eat and the 2016 was from when it was a hta68. 398/406 07 spec b same motor only difference is 21lbs boost and cat in the down pipe.

  2. It is if you are using the Cobb FF kit. (or other FF that utilizes the old tgv input)

It uses the old TGV input and requires different connector for 07 spec B. 05 LGT has 3 pin connector 07 spec B has 5 pin connector.

As for launching, I don't do it. My car doesn't see track or drag strip time and I'd surely break all the things launching a 5mt at 450wtq.

It is going to be trial and error finding the butter zone for your car/clutch/tires combo and will take tons of practice especially since you are new to manual transmission.

The only way to get a STS is to buy and install one. There is no adjustment on the stock shift lever/knob that I'm aware of.

As for the cobb ff kit i do not have one since the 05 gt was not supported. But i would like to now. Its a brand new wire harness on the spec b so ill swap tgv and harness to the motor swap.

As for the shifter. In the compilation of free mods there is a write up on cutting down the stock shfter a max of 32mm i think to make it a sts.

Also thank you for you advice bro

  3. The spec B 6mt is already good to go.

I thought so from what i have read.

At that power level if you are launching properly you should break an axle before having tranny issues.

Proper fluid and some beefed up axles should be enough in that area.

Short throw shifter, upgraded shifter bushings, stiffer trans mount... Probably where I'd start.

I read that i could modify the stock shifter to a sts. Is it the same as buying one?

i only ever drove auto cars so if you can give me a link to read or some advice on launching i would really appreciate it. I assume just use the ap to do launch control.

  4. Hello everyone. I broke my rear diff 05 lgt 5eat. Yes i track it and it is my daily. The tranny is built and so is the center diff along with valve body and hexmod goodies. So the next weakst li k finaly went. From what i understand is im stuck with the r160 but can upgrade the internals? Can someone please help me understand?

Ok so im being told my rear diff is a type ra gear with sun dials with a gear ratio of 2.63. Everything i find says its a r160?

  5. Ive got a question i seen utc's post on changing requested torque tables is that something i can mention to my tuner or does he have to do some research? Do i even need to do that since ive got the f1? Also will that change the lag from manual shifting?
  6. well ive got to figure out now if ive got to take the trans out now to inspect it also since the metal bits probably passed through into the trans. ill post pics later after work of the planetary gears and the input shaft they are destroyed.
  7. Does the center diff and trans share the same fluid? I'm asking because my planet gears teeth are destroyed and so metal particals are probably everywhere. So I don't know the extent of repair and surgery I have to do besides rebuilding or buying a whole new center diff.
  8. Update I've wired everything up the gauge works I grounded it to the battery ground that runs to the left side fender wall right by the fuse box. But now I went to start my motor last night and I get no spark to the plugs. I have fuel and power to the injectors but no spark! Timing is dead on. The crank sensor worked before the build. I don't know where to go from here. I also have the ground for my defi unit going to the same place. Could it be I have to many grounds going to one spot? I'm gonna back up and take the grounds off there when I get home and try that. That's the only thing I have changed since the build.
