What stronger option do you speak of? I had to replace both ft axles already!

So just another OEM unit would be needed? Like this one? http://compare.ebay.com/like/280855097470?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&_lwgsi=y&cbt=y
Along with a second Aeromotive 340 with dual in-tank pump setup like something from Full Blown?
Was your friend able to run pump93 when needed? My friend with his stupid big build is running strictly E85 with ID2000s. But he has an Aeromotive 340 feeding a surge tank with two Bosch 044's. Our tuner was saying something about the 32-bit ECU can't lower the injector pulse width enough to get the car to idle on pump93. But because E85 requires ~30% more fuel, the injectors can idle the car just fine.
I need to be able to run 93 when E isn't available, as I drive a lot.
I am accessport tuned on ID2000's to run e85 and 93 and EFI logics got the car idling on 93 octane.

A friend of mine built his motor to be very rev happy. He can rev to 9500 is desired, but around 8750, his oil pressure starts to drop.
He destroked his 2.5 block with a 2.0 crank, sleeved the block, and bored it to bring his displacement back up to 2.5L. He made 610whp and 598wtq on the dyno yesterday. He's also running a massive HTA86. But he literally has a 5k RPM power band and can break the tires loose in 4th gear. That car is just plain scary.
Would love some more info and a dyno sheet for this if possible.

Did only the 06s come with #s?
yes. XXX/500

That feeling really sucks!...ive had it before, always anticipating something bad is gonna happen.
-
must be nice to finally drive the car and have a little fun...
-
tri staters have no fear, that earthquake was nothing more than a spec b on straight pipes rumbling down the Turnpike.
That was me with my side exhaust!!...lmao
-
so true. we need the extra power to carry the extra weight of our over-sized gentlemen sausages...
I concur!!

Id be interested in the tomei if u were selling it....

Could have been Hector. he has an 06 spec.b with pipes that exit infront of the rear wheels on the sides. rectangular tips. car is just shy of 400hp with an sti tranny swap and a bunch of other work
It couldnt have been me because he said he heard it at low speed!

Just saw a white GT wagon. What looked to be a ski or bike rack, yellow fogs and some type of exhaust on there. I saw it on Co-Op city blvd in the bronx around 9pm or so...

subscribed for a fix cause i too am having the same issue!!
-
Thats y it came as such a surprise to me. I did read this thread. All pages and while I did not read about the 06 not having wheel speed sensors I did read about the 08s going in with no problem. Unclemat I thank you for the relieving info. I was already thinking that this swap was a bad idea!! Whoo hoo!!....
-
I was just informed that the 08 sti tranny that I just bought wont work with out my car!!!!! I was told that the 08 tranny doesnt have a vehicle speed sensor while my car (06) does and thus wont get a speed signal and put the ecu into limp mode and have no speedometer. Can anyone verify this????? I need to know asap!! If so has anyone heard of any solutions to this issue??
-
Is that to the flywheel or wheels?
-
just ordered an 08 sti tranny package with everything needed for the swap minus the rear spec b axles which I already have and a few other things. Now hopefully EFI can fit me in before jun 21!! I cant wait that long...
-
Just purchased an 08 STI tranny, driveshaft, flywheel, shifter, and rear diff. I am using an aftermarket clutch, spec b rear axles. I know I need to use the 5spd nss and reverse switch. Can I use my 5 spd front axles and is there anything else I need that is essential to the install? I'm getting all the little stuff like group n 6 spd mount, sts, ss clutch line and all the little things.

Oh ok nice! Yea we definitely need to get together. We need to set something up. I'm gonna try and get squeezed in earlier. I still gotta buy the stuff but, the sooner I can get in the better. What u makin now? I'm at 370 whp 375 wtq on their dyno. I wanna do the sti drivetrain then some meth and equal lengths. I'll be happy with 400/400. For now....lol
-
Oh ok yea I know they're good. They tune my car. I was just there yesterday actually. They're really good guys there. I'm going in the 21st of June to have my STI drivetrain installed!! I'll have them set up the alignment then too. I didn't know they did that cause I didn't see any alignment machine but, that'll work.
-
Hey ct 2 things. First #27 is no longer for sale!! Second where did u get ur car aligned and did they use factory specs or the specs u asked them to?...
-
Well my issue was a bad coilpack. I dont know which one or how it went bad but, I replaced all of them to be sure and that fixed the problem straight away. Just a FYI for anybody going through the same issue as me.
-
I dont know what is going on here! I am having what I believe is a misfire issue. It is however not throwing any codes. The symptoms are as follows:
1. When I free rev the car it stalls and dies
2. When driving the motor has hesitated and bucked really bad in any gear between 2k-3k rpm
3. The biggest issue is when it starts making boost it starts missing and breaking up real bad.
Plugs have been replaced. There is fuel pressure. There seems to be no vacuum leaks or anything. I do not know what is going on. My tuner is kind of stumped as well. Any and all advice is wanted, needed, and greatly appreciated. Below is a video of the car on the dyno doing the breaking up thing.
