  1. Thank you all for the replies!

I'm thinking of taking a look at the car and seeing if it's a rust bucket down there to see if it's worth it like Nonamedude says. I am in the south now so rust isn't as prevalent down here but you never know.

I was unaware about the potential length difference between the wagon and sedans so I'll have to do some measuring as well. If it's not too much, I may make it work if the mounting points align.

Finally, with the tips I was thinking the same as Max Capacity, cut off my tips and clamp them over the other. Or see if my muffler is salvageable and if it mates with the outback.

    Thanks again for your input!

  2. Hello,

Quick question, is there any compatibility issue with swapping the OEM exhaust from a NA 05 outback to a 07 legacy 2.5i?

I have a legacy which spent most of it's life up north so as you can imagine it's rusty as hell. My exhaust has developed a couple of cracks/holes and sounds horrible so I have been thinking of swapping it out but there aren't many aftermarket options for the NA market and a new OEM replacement exhaust is quite expensive. An 05 outback 2.5i has recently been listed at the local pick and pull place and I am thinking of checking it out to see if I can pull the exhaust off it.

After doing some Googling and reading here, I believe that there should be no problem swapping an NA exhaust from an Outback to a Legacy but I wanted to see if anyone here may have some experience with this situation before I commit to this endeavor.

    Thanks for reading!
