  6. They are used for showing off your undercarriage at shows and installing mods/doing maintenance under your car.
  7. So I ventured outside of my usual amateur car show seen and decided to try and compete with the big dogs since I have been doing well in the Subaru world. Well I got my ass kicked at Import Face Off yesterday so I scheduled my stereo build appointment and built some wheel cribs yesterday so I will have a fighting chance. For those of you not in the Pacific Northwest its crazy up here, there are so many badass cars it makes it really hard to win anything. I got some mirrors to go with the cribs as well. So I posted some pictures yesterday in a few threads and someone suggested making a DIY thread for these so here you go. First off determine what size wood you need, I have 18x8 wheels so 2x10's worked best for me and my jack only allows me to get the tires just over 6 inches off the ground so I made my cribs 6 inches high. Cost: Should be around $40 without mirrors depending on where you go. Wheel cribs online are $160+ depending on which ones you get. Materials needed: Two 10ft 2x10's, one 8ft .75"x1.5", a box of 2 1/2 inch wood screws, a couple boxes of 12"x12" mirrors, and a can of what ever color spray paint you want. I chose flat black. Tools Needed: Speed square, pencil, skill saw, tape measure, and a drill with phillips bit. Dimensions: Height 6", Length 14", and the Width of a 2x10 is just over 9". Step 1: Cut your 2x10's into sixteen 14" long pieces. Step 2: Cut your .75"x1.5" into 8 pieces the same width as your 2x10. I cut a few extra http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt49/SubyStud555/20130603_142915_zpse1c2df08.jpg Step 3: Using 2 pieces of 2x10 stack them together and make sure the ends are flush then screw them together using 4 screws, two on each end. Step 4: Add another piece of 2x10 to your other two and flush the ends, screw them together using 4 screws, two on each end. Step 5: Add one last piece of 2x10 to your other three and flush the ends, screw them together using 4 screws, two on each end. You should now have 4 pieces of 2x10 screwed together. Step 6: Using 2 pieces of .75"x1.5" put them on top of your 2x10 one on each end and flush them up then screw each one down with two screws. Step 7: Follow steps 1-6 three more times until you have 4 wheel cribs. Step 8: Paint them and your done. I haven't painted mine yet but here is what they look like on the car. http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt49/SubyStud555/20130603_190920_zps68bb681b.jpg With mirrors. http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt49/SubyStud555/20130603_152722_zps862f3a03.jpg

  12. Now that's what I am talking about! Can't wait till it's done but I think I need to go for a ride again I don't think I got the full experience with a slipping clutch! We need to have a NSFW ride a long meat!
  13. It means go for it! My clutch is awesome if you don't mind the chatter of a twin plate.

  17. Not much has changed here but got some plans for summer. Your car is looking good, if you do add a turbo make sure you do all your research and upgrade all the required stuff so you dont destroy you engine.
  18. The grill is $275 here is a link: http://rrevsports.com/ the headlights you can do yourself here is a link on how to do those: http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3737 and a FMIC is a front mount intercooler which replaces the top mount intercooler here is a link to a picture of mine: http://legacygt.com/forums/album.php?albumid=51&pictureid=1912 you can check the walkthroughs performance modifications forum for more ideas.
  19. 300WHP and 360WTQ for now with just a VF22 turbo.
  20. Couple nice mods before you get your motor, R-Rev Sports CF Grill, clear your corners, and debadge your trunk.
  21. You should leave it as is for now until you get the STI motor in then get a FMIC and keep your stock hood so your car will look like a total sleeper, plus your engine bay will stay a lot cleaner without the hood scoop.
  22. Sure I can help you out, let me know about how much power you are looking for and I will make some suggestions.
