Steady throttle/Increasing throttle/Both: Increasing Throttle from 65% to WOT.

    MODS

    Intake: Stock

    Exhaust: Cobb DP/Magnaflow CBE

    Fuel: 91 Stock

    Turbo: Stock

    Engine Management: Open Source (Tactrix+RR+LV)

Tuner and revision of tune(if you don't mind): Stage 2 Infamous1 Tune, Revision 3 complete.

    MAINTENANCE

    Sensors changed: Original

    Plugs changed: Original

    Coil Packs changed: Original

    OTHER SYMPTOMS

    Check Engine Light: N/A

    Etc: N/A

    RESULTS

What has and hasn't worked for you: Going to the dealer and complaining about it. They said it might be the MAF sensor going out. It has been like this since I bought it new in 2007. 2008 LGT MT

If something worked, how long has it been working for: Getting e-tuned by Shamar has eleminated any previous stutter that I experienced. That, in of itself, was worth the tune in my opinion.

  2. @Adoniram:

Here are some things that would have been really helpful to me this past week and may be worth adding to your first post.

1.) After flashing with the first base map, my ECU reset my IAM to .75 which is common after a new flash. You want your IAM to 1.0 before you log your pull.

1.a) The quickest way to get your IAM to 1.0 is to WOT in 2nd to redline and shift to 3rd, WOT to red line. I had to do this 3 times to get my IAM to 1.0.

2.) Help tip: Not sure if this is the case for all models, but on my '08 LGT, the rear defrost button toggled the log file. Much easier than reaching over for the F1 button in my opinion.

3.) In "Selecting your parameters to log", I was not given specific instructions on what would should be logged. fultonhow provided me with this information from his E-Tuner.

    Log the following parameters:

    Engine Speed (rpm)

    Engine Load (g/rev) 2-byte

    IAM 1-byte

    Ignition Timing Total (degrees)

    Injector Duty Cycle

    Knock Sum (count)

    Manifold Rel. Pressure (psi) 4-byte

    Mass Air Flow (g/s)

    Mass Air Flow volts

    Primary Wastegate Duty Cycle (%)

    Throttle Angle

Thanks to fultonhow and m sprank for sharing this info.

HDTurbo suggested I also added Boost Pressure Actual (PSI) to my log. Please confirm, but from what I can tell, this value when logging needs to be adjusted for apsi, or atmospheric pressure. At sea level, I believe you need to subtract 14.7 psi from the recorded value. For me at ~3,000 above sea level, 13.2. I found this info here. I didn't want to add too many parameters for fear of slowing down the data stream and therefore lowering my capture resolution of data, but adding this additional parameter created no ill effects.

4.) Stay WOT until the power cuts out. The rev limiter kicks in after 6500 RPM so just commit until the rev goes down then stop your log. I have never spent too much time at red line so I had no idea there was a rev limit set on my '08 LGT.

Again, these are some things that I learned through this process and it might be beneficial to someone else.

Nice write up, by the way. Thank you for your contribution. It did get me started!

  3. How about a "Get the most out of your LGT with these SAFE mods for your Daily Driver......"

I've searched, and haven't really found a definitive answer on what mods will increase performance while maintaining longterm life of the car.

If this is a dumb question, just tell me to bugger off...but seems like a good question for those who don't want a 'hobby/project car' but want the most out of their ride.

  4. Looks close, the guideline actually skews it a bit because I can't see where the bottom is lining up exactly. I do notice this is the other side from what you first posted, so you may have the other side higher? It looks like in your first picture if you shifted the spoiler up 1/4in (give or take) it would fit the contour of the trunk perfectly. Just a thought based on my first install.

I did post that How To thread... same title as above. Check it out if you'd like. It's got my tips on how I did it my second time from what I learned the first time. ;)

I took out the guidelines and edited my post. It does look like mine might be a tad lower. When I was dry fitting it, I could get it to not bow, but then the angel was pretty extreme and not enough of the surface of the tape would have fit flush with the trunk. It's hard to explain but will definitely check out your How To!

    Thanks for the help!

  5. Hey man, it looks like your problem is you didn't line up the top and bottom perfectly. That's what I did my first time and I ended up reinstalling. If you look, the curve on the spoiler doesnt match the trunk perfect, and the bottom is sitting more on the trunk than the top, causing parts of the tape not to stick. I'm gonna post my 'tips' in a thread called 'Installing Rommel's RBS v.2 Trunk Spoiler' so everyone can see them. I also put a pic so you can see what mine looks like. Notice the difference in how the curves match up on mine (after my 2nd try). Reapply new tape if needed (plan on it) and follow the tips in my thread and it should work out ok.

I don't know man...I'm looking really close here, amazingly enough I have a picture very close to your same angel. Look at the comparisons. I'm on the left and you're on the right. I event drew a guide line for comparison.

  6. Pako - very nice! :)

    Thanks!

PSI - Didn't have any 'twist' like issues. The spoiler didn't have as much of a curve as the trunk so there's a little pressure at both ends. I have a little tape not sticking to the spoiler on the ends which is causing it to pull up a little. I think there might have been a little fiberglass dust on the spoiler when the tape was first put on... Got some new tape coming so we'll fit it again...
