Hi all
We've just replaced a faulty stereo (wouldn't play CDs) in a 2006 Subaru Legacy with a very similar model - GX-204RE and it seems to work ok but when you first power it on (or off) it displays "security" and when it is on, it works but the first letter of whatever is displayed flashes constantly - ie: if on FM1 then the "F" flashes or if on CD then the "C" flashes.
Perhaps it needs a code reset?
Anyone seen this before and know how to fix?
Cheers

I also have a question. For those whose actuators have failed, are you also unable to unlock the door with the latch by hand? That is what has happened occasionally for me on the right rear door. Won't unlock with the power unlock or manually.
If you mean the drivers side central locking button/switch...then yes...eventually, if I toggle it off and on about 3-4 times.

Just for interest's sake - does anyone know what the specific "Genuine part" number is? My faulty door is the right rear but wouldn't mind knowing how much our dealers here would like to rip me off for the part.
Would be easier to be able to quote the exact part number I'm after.

I've still had no luck sorting and I am also confused as to how you even enter a code if we do find one.
Not sure if ours cuts out after 30mins. Seems to work fine other than flashing the first letter of the display all the time (and flash "security" when it first powers on).
Google searches haven't netted any decent results either.
