Thank you Centerpunch, for your reply to superj300. Obviously he may be technically challenged and can't tell 9 wires from 500, but he is entitled to his opinion just as all of us are. I don't think I deserve to be called a dumbass because I offer an alternate choice. I don't think even Jazzy would stoop that low and I'm sure he knows about Mike's board. We all have choices in life to make. I chose to use Mike's board, and I have installed one for someone else as well. We should respect each others opinions on this forum and not be calling names.

Not to take away any credit to Jazzy and his Aux -in board, but I installed Mike Vigneau's Aux - in board that doesn't need or use a silent cd. I still have full use of all my cd slots. It works great, I-Pod levels are almost an exact match to the radio level. Perhaps not too many know about this alternative. I just did not want to use a silent CD.

To all,
This is my first post and I'm not sure if I am doing this correctly. I did not find any instructions. Anyway, my 2006 LGT came with the 6CD changer and navigation unit (CQ-EF1561L). I wanted to play mp3's so I bought a model CQ-EF1460L but found that after installing it there was no communication from the nav unit. Now I realize that the radio portion was not meant to be used for the nav unit. I put the original back in to have the voice communication from the nav. Now I have the mp3 changer from the CQ-EF1460L and wondered if I could just swap changers. It looks like the same ribbon connector on both players. Any thoughts?
Thanks for any replies.....gas711

If anyone uses an I-Pod they should not use the headphone out jack. For best results use the docking plug on the base of the I-Pod. This will give you a line out and better quality.
