In my particular case, the dealer told me that the car was safe to drive. However, I recommend asking the dealership or manufacturer directly if there is any safety risk (especially since I am not a technician and cannot advise you or evaluate your vehicle).
But, in my opinion, the car is not performing as engineered if the supplemental restraint system is not functioning properly. I did receive a loaner car while waiting for the part to arrive.
