  1. Add a bit of negative camber (-.5* to -.75*) and you'll likely be good to go except on the narliest of bump/turns when you may rub a bit on the fender liner up inside the wheel well. Are you using the offset LCA bushings, or is your car lowered?

No bushings or anything, and the cars still on it's stock suspension, which is the weirdest part.. Does that sound right? Stock suspension, tires/wheels/etc within supposedly acceptable specs and it still rubs? I also went with a 225/40 instead of the stock 215/45, which means the tires are shorter, but wider. I don't know, i'm very confused. I may take a dremel to the last 1/4" of the lip on my car and see if that's actually where it's hitting. Everywhere else really looks like there's enough clearance, especially when it comes to wheelgap (see a few posts up), though after I put all 4 on, it definitely sat down a little.

Thanks for the reply, btw. :)

  2. Can I get your guys thoughts on something? I put my DR33's on for the summer today and.. they rub a little? Only under braking and turning to the right (left seems to be okay).

From what I'd read about a Spec B, I would have thought a 225/40R18 tire on an 18x7.5" would have been perfect, but.. it's definitely rubbing a little. I looked and really couldn't see any evidence on any of the suspension/steering, so my hope is that it's hitting the wheelwell liner or the very end of my fiberglass lip but I don't know, I was pretty bummed out when I heard it.

Given the lack of fitment issues with the tiresize/wheels size on a Spec B, is it most likely something non-critical? Maybe the offset wasn't enough? I *think* it was 48, but I'm not 100% on that.

edit: looks like the offset is 45. it's within the parameters of the Wheel/Offset thread. thought?

  3. Lets see.. these were all yesterday. :)

Light blue GT parked at Kathy's Korner Cupboard on Fisherville Rd in Concord, NH. Looked lowered, perhaps?

Red GT driven buy a youngish guy (in a suit, I think?) headed east on Route 4 around Chichester, would have been around 6pm or so.

Silver GT with black wheels (with chrome lip) headed south on 93 around 3:30pm yesterday, cruising in the right-hand lane at a decent rate of speed. ;)

  4. I actually found that rather than trying to pull out the wire from the connector, and then having to tape up the end or something, I just elected to cut the wire, and put in a male/female disconnector. That way all I have to do to hook it back up is just plug them back in.

I elected to do this after I struggled with trying to remove the wire from the connector for like 20 minutes. :)

  5. 07 spec-b in concord today (dont ask how i knew it was a spec B)

out near long pond zipping around and

then tailgating a saab i think

i was in a pathfinder coming from hospital area ( back way)

oh and BTW having your plate say what your car is is quite redundant

    LOL (sarcasm... kinda )

BUt having your plate say how much WHP you have IS COOL !!!!

(lol idk who might have that :hide:)

If the plate was 'Spec-B', that's me, and yes it's redundant. :) I was planning on de-badging it, but didn't get around to it before the cold weather set in.

I drove down by your shop one day after I got it, but I couldn't stop in, due to being on lunch. :( I'll stop in eventually though.

People drive too slow on Long Pond, but it sounds like me.. ;)

edit: maybe we can even throw it up on your dyno sometime and see if we can dispel the spec b vs. lgt hp #'s war. :)

  6. Alright, what the hell, what have I done wrong?

I pulled out the blue/black wire (actually, I cut it, planning on putting in a disconnect instead, because I couldn't get the ******* wire out of the clip, no matter how much pushing in w/ prying I did), and the headlights work.. but no fogs or high beams.

This is an '07 spec b. I did the same thing as so many others, and it didn't end up with the same result.

What the hell is going on here? :(

edit: hmm.. i'm a retard. I forgot to plug the plug back in after i cut the wire.

Wow.. after two cups of coffee today and everything. *sigh*

  7. My exhaust setup is the Perrin UP, Cobb catted DP and Perrin from the DP back. I've grown to love the sound. Once you start modding your Spec B, you won't miss your STI that much any more.:icon_mrgr

That's what I hope.. because at this point, I do miss the pickup a bit.

First step is to get some miles logged, and wait for Cobb to release the Accessport 2.0.

Also, I have the benefit of TDC Tuning being here in my hometown! :)

  8. Yea... that was me... I didn't think I got too close to that Merc... Dam guy turned after I started rolling.. :hide: And yes...I'm modified. I've done just about all you can do without replacing the turbo. Wasn't my intent to make a bad impression. :( Was up visiting family in Rome. :D

Wasn't a bad impression by any means. :) It looked like that Merc was going to road-rage you right into the grass though.. Well, if he could have caught you, that is ;)

I was also visiting family up in Rome, having recently traded my STi in favor of my new Spec B. It's definitely a little slower than my STi, but I plan on seeing what I can do about that.

What exhaust are you running? It sounded really good.. not too loud, but the Subaru Boxer resonation was more prevalent than stock, which is something I might like. :)

  9. Not sure of the year, but I saw a Red LGT manual sedan around Rome/Utica NY (near the casino), with some modifications (could only tell by the exhaust, and how quickly he accelerated away, and amost ran into one of those Mercedes Ugly-mobiles they used in Jurassic Park 2).

I was in the '07 Spec B :) You know, the guy who didn't bother racing? Car was barely broken in ;)
