The TCM module reflash -- is that the same one that was out a while ago for people running in a lower gear then they should be in for a long time ?

 

I.E. it prevented you from driving around in 1st all day...

Unless there is something officail to refer to.. like a TSB or incident # a dealer can refrence when calling the tech line, nobody will be able to get a 'quick' resolution

oh.. the walkthrough is nice.. it would be cool if some things were a little clarified.. like that mysterious 5th step.

has anyone done or doing this soon? Post better step by step ?

One point of clarification:

 

The 'demons' in the system when you do NOT explicitly set a mode (defrost, bi lev, feet, etc) is that the system tends to :

 

When its cold out - the system will blow cold air on the windshield until the car engine is warmed, then it will swtich modes to blow the warm air on your feet. it will then, as it approaches temperature, switch to bi-lev with cooler air to ease into the desired temerature. it will also vary fan speed.

 

This is true for any mode in which you did NOT explicitly set the output.

but nobody will ever read it. They don't even read the manual... let alone search here.

 

Maybe if you group this with the elusive ILL5 error and the water in my intercooler threads.. it can get the recognition it needs

i think the power folding mirrors are adaptible... but you lose the heated mirror option.

 

 

I use that more then folding automatically... i can always do it by hand too

Just to be sure... because I finally figured out the mystery of the HVAC system..

 

are you guys using the defrost option? This is on the right knob, top button.

 

This supposedly turns on the compressor but does not blow cold air..

 

you must also make sure both knobs are turned to 65 for max cooling.

 

 

Also check around your internal temp sensors... it may be confused as to your internal temp... it might think the car is colder then it really is, and therefore lessening the cold air..
