Walmart is a double edged sword.

...like crappy jobs with little to no benefits, abusing their employees, and selling imported crap made with jobs outsourced to other countries. Giving SO much back to the community.

Yes I have noticed this the last few weeks as well. Strong gas smell until the car is warmed up. I am guessing their may be a problem with the charcoal filter canister that is part of the emmissions system.

The only thing that sucks is you have to buy a $60 part to get that cable, and it may be tough to use the aux port that comes with the kit. I guess we won't know until someone tries.

Cutting them from a junked car at a salvage yard would also be a good option.

All you need for wiring is shielded audio cable. I have a lot of it if you want I can sell you some. Personally I wouldn't bother with the Subaru Aux jacks because I have no idea where you will be able to mount it. The aux jacks from radioshack are very small and have a nice threaded bezel for easy mounting.

The exclusive deal between Ford and Microsoft on Sync is expiring and other auto manufactures will be offering it. But as long as it took Subuaru to just get an Aux input I wouldn't hold your breath.

I got mine from and ebay reseller... it was salvaged.

Just wanted to cross post an FYI that I have upgraded my '06 2.5i head unit to an '07 head unit and wired in an auxillary input if anyone wants information on the upgrade.

I was lucky and I got an '07 head unit for free and because it was salvaged all of the old connectors were on it (wires were just cut from the car) and I was able to salvage these to hook up my auxillary input wires.
