  1. Not sure if it's ok to post this here but I have a set of Subaru rubber mats from our 05 LGT for sale if anyone wants them. They are in very good condition. Located near Appleton, WI. I'd ship them if you're willing to pay for the shipping, but that is probably cost prohibitive. $20
  2. Anyone want my gtboost digital for $75 shipped? Only reason I'm selling is because I sold my car. USPS 2-3 Day Priority shipping included. This is one of the beta versions of the new gauge. Paypal only please. First person to post "I'll take it" in this thread has dibs.
  3. Those are the two choices. Plus you can choose to display only when you are on boost so you get the normal setting the rest of the time.
  4. The original gauge is a row of LEDs. The new one is a numeric display that works with the display by the clock. You can use one or the other or both. You'll need to buy some vacuum hose to run a line to the engine bay and a t fitting or two. AFAIK know the original one doesn't come with the factory connectors and needs to be spliced, and the new one comes with the connectors. The splicing is easy.
  5. The max boost alarm goes to 21 before cycling back to 0. One cool feature I discovered is that the Peak Hold value in the the mpg and temp displays is held no matter what you have displayed on the computer. So if you've got it on the miles left in the tank display and hit boost, you've got a few seconds to cycle to temp or mpg and you can see your previous peak boost.
  6. Ok, I see where that is indicated on the pdf. The "Data Display Settings" section could be more verbose. The rest of the pdf is great. Will the original gauge start shipping with the connectors? Will you offer a setup with both gauges that is connector-only/no splicing?
  7. The airbag light appears to work fine on my 05. Should the 'Display Vac" On setting display vacuum on the mpg setting and the temp setting? Mine only works with mpg. I actually prefer it this way, just curious what is supposed to happen. If the production gauge is going to be repackaged somewhat it would be ideal to keep the overall length similar to the beta unit to make removing the cubby easier.
  8. I'll have to double check the airbag light, I'm not sure. The extra display info isn't that big of a deal. Another feature that might be neat would be to have the display flash on/off while boosting. That would give a better indication that it is reading boost. I'm not sure I'd use a feature like that, just throwing the idea out there. This may have been asked already, but would it be possible to have a toggle that told it to force displaying boost anytime the car is on boost no matter what the computer is set to?
  9. I have some video but youtube is being a PAB. Can anyone recommend a decent free video converter? This should work with quicktime. It's a cell phone vid, I can take something better when our camera gets home. It shows setting the max boost alarm and then triggering it. When I made the video it was 6F outside and the max boost had been set to 3. I changed the boost alarm to 7. http://my.athenet.net/~mtr/gtboost.3gp
  10. Install is cake if you've got the vac line ran to the cubby already. The connectors on the gtboost look exactly like the factory connectors. All I had to do was put a splitter in the vac line, run the line and plug in the harness. An added bonus of the extra wire is that the cubby now pulls out about 10" and it's much easier to get access to the connector in the back. Setting the gauge is easy. I set all the dips to on. The max boost alarm is simple - tap the odo stalk twice. The gauge beeps. Set the thing to temp if you haven't already. Tap the odo stalk until you get to the max setting you want and close the door. Tapping the stalk adjusts the setting even if the computer is not set to temp. This is simple enough to do that I might get in the habit of setting the alarm low if I lend my car to someone. Some thoughts - The peak hold displays longer than the original gtboost which is nice - There is enough wire to mount the dip switches inside the cubby if you wanted to. It would be slightly fugly but could be done. - The gauge beeps several times when you turn the car on (when it gets power). It would be nice to be able to turn that off or set it to one beep. - It would be cool if the temp symbol (F/C) would be off when the gauge is reading boost. - Changing the dips involves pulling the cubby. Kind of a hassle, but hopefully I won't need to change it much.
  11. Here are some pics. It feels solid and the circuit board is well protected with some rubbery stuff. The connectors are a nice touch. The splices look very professional - soldered and shrink wrapped with hot glue or something similar. The only negative I can come up with visually is there could be more tape around the splices to secure them, but that is minor.
  12. Looks like similar to the original gtboost gauge
  13. New Katzkin leather seats (replacement covers) front and back are about $600. I would expect something less than that.
  14. One thing I really like about BMWs is that there is a button on the stalk to toggle the multifunction display. The Legacy has a washer mist button on the stalk. Would it be possible to build a board that can intercept the signal coming from the mist button and do this: 1. If there is a short press on the mist button, toggle the multifunction display 2. If there is a long press on the mist button, mist as normal. 3. ?
  15. My cloth seats have heaters. Don't know if they are plug and play, but they probably are from your end. The cloth seats aren't power seats if that matters to you. The manual adjustments are back/forth, up/down, seat back angle and I think lumbar. BTW you should specify if you've got black or tan.
  16. Is Dynamat that much different from the adhesive duct insulation stuff you can get at Lowes/HD?
  17. This would be a great thread if I could read it
  18. I'm willing to beta test on a 2005. I have a gtboost20. Pictures are not a problem.
  19. Is it possible to have whatever gauge you are replacing with boost (temp, MPG, etc) show it's normal output when the car is in negative boost?
  20. This doesn't replace the original gtboost gauge, correct? Is it a separate gauge that could be used with or without the original?
  21. Done. Great mod, thanks! What it my car trying to tell me when I hit the lock button and it beeps 5 times?
