Ive been thinking about selling them and getting the enkei sti gunmetal ones...

Probably since the screen itself is so small you would have to get the dimensions of the piece.
the problem with 7" screens is they have buttons that you need to use that may be blocked by the bezel. same with the auto dimmer. so you may never be able to turn it off or use the volume controls or get to a menu.
When I was looking for my screen I found that the cheaper the better, yea I lose a little quality, but its not a huge deal since I have another one.
as for putting a double din up there its a huuge pita to mount it and make it stable, it gets very hot in there, and you have to hack up a lot of the "guts" of your dash in order for it to fit.
Another opt is to uses alpines vehicle hub or a clean sweep with a screen and a added dvd player or something.

The dimensions I found are as follows:
Main Screen:
W = 5.981 inches
H = 3.370 inches
Diagonal (measured like a TV/Monitor) = 6.865 inches
Button Panel:
W = 5.446 inches
H = .568 inches
it may not be perfect but thats what modifying is for..

subaruparts.com has the follow.. whats the difference
Instrument panel - Ducts - Center panel - W/o navigation sys. 64.59
Instrument panel - Ducts - Center panel - W/navigation sys. 73.96
does anyone know how big the opening is on the oem nav front panel in the normal "sunglass" holder
its the one with nav.

wait, you bought a screen mounting bracket for the oem navi bezel from subaruparts.com? Part number???? I must have it!
no i made my own
-
the nav screen price was 75 shipped from subaruparts.com The bracket to hold it in place is just a thin piece of metal w. 4 L brackets screwed into the vents with small screws. It holds it perfectly in there, the hardest part is lining it up so the screen isnt off centered.

the main screen is the highline audio double din, I got it on the 1st gb so the price wasnt too bad. I did the top screen myself. it was fairly easy
The top screen is just a cheap $120 power acoustic 7" touch screen. I got the touch screen so that way I had a way of turning it on and off when the power button is not accessible.
I got the USDM navigation bezel.
Filled in the hole with fiberglass bondo
Sanded

then painted ultra flat black was my 1st time doing it I thought it came out well

holy crap I actually saw someone....
Rt. 15 NB before exit 48 saw a black or dark blue sedan, looked lowered with MR exhaust...I was in the GRP sedan..couldnt hear a word you were saying =)

I think the RBS grills are not being made anymore, i could be wrong but that is what i was told from fastwrx.com
the T.N. Guts one will fit, i remember seeing it on a USDM car ... the others will need to be modified i believe.
-
yeah it seems like they rewired it, which is odd.... you might have to do some wire tapping to test how it works and go from there.
