thanks man. It looks like it's impossible to do without some heavy mod work. definitely no VGA that I could see there.

You can't get the stock navi screen.. well.. you can, but the screen is part of the navi computer.. it's not just a screen like it is in a carpc setup.

 

I think it's like $900 or something like that.

 

but do you know what sort of connection it has on it?

so how much would be to get a stock navi screen + bezel from the dealer? and what sort of connectors do stock navi screens have? I'm guessing it's not VGA.

Alright, I give up on this stupid thing...

 

Just got the new hard drive today, installed it and the carputer keeps rebooting and making a ticking noise from the little speaker.. even reboots when sitting in the BIOS screen.. Swapped out the RAM, still did it.

 

Damnit, all the time and money I have put into this project and now this happens.

 

EDIT: Yes, it was rebooting before I changed the drive... I figured it was just due to the faulty drive I had connected.

 

What sort of temperatures do you see?

My ultimate goal is to make a Legacy CarPC "KIT". This kit will include trunk PC Case (fits in the trunk passenger side cavity) w/trunk carpeting to match. Cubby Bezel w/universal mounting brackets (to support both Xenarc & Lilliput). & Competitive pricing...

How do you plan to make this bezel and mounting brackets? And is this something that will take years to finish or do you think you'll be done in next few months?

If you were interested in running wires back there, I could walk you through it, maybe make a walk-thru for the forum with pictures. I'd be more than happy to help.

I'd like to see a walkthrough of this sort as well. I'm thinking of puting a computer in the trunk as well.
