  1. Meh, I'm not gonna try to convince anyone. I evaluated scientific information and my confidence in local powdercoaters to adhere to specific temps and made a call for myself. If those won't be your track wheels, it's probably okay.
  2. Those look good. I always cringe though, when I see forged wheels being powdercoated.

I have a fresh professionally-painted set in gloss-black that I'm contemplating selling, because I decided to go with 16" rims for the winter. Might put'em in FS section in a few days.

  3. Well, total track width difference between 08 sti and wrx is more than an inch per side. 06-07 WRX difference between sedan/hatch was less than an inch in total. Part of it here could be the hub, but I guess LCA contribution is more than 10mm.

Also watch for tire rubbing on fenders.

  4. Suspension does not worry me, things bolt-up etc, and it you take it easy for a while - you just ruin tires if something isn't right. But what about front axles with track now being wider? Never done front axes on this car, but I don't think there's a pin that holds those in the transmission. Could the pop out? Or damage the oil seal?
  5. also if you look at the pic in post #12 of this thread it looks like the cones are there on the studs in the box.

I see no cones on that stud. And the stud itself (which looks like a stud that rear bushing goes on to) is too thick for the cones to fit on.

  6. -9. Omg wtf bbqthxbye

Log 14 is some of that "cruise knock" I mentioned. 5th, tq locked up, squeeze the pedal to accelerate from 50-ish to 70-ish.

I just saw a -9 (okay, -8.44 but KC jumped by 3 so I'm pretty sure there was a -9 there) on a completely stock map with no mods. So it happens

  7. So to start learning I've been logging stock map. Sadly I couldn't get the CAN logging patch to recognize my ecu to gain some resolution and ability to log key parameters, so I was doing it via k-line.

Getting lotsa knock sum increments, most are at really low loads, so it's probably just some random crap, like heat shield rattle?

But a couple of them are at mid-low-range loads (~1). Some just increment the sum (probably too bad of a resolution to catch anything), and some show up as FBKC.

What else should I log to figure out if it's a cause for concern?

WOT run looks fine. LV looks okay except for stupid-wide rpm/load ranges on the scale (that's what in stock roms right?).
