  1. what are you trying to get done? basic maintenance, performance shop, alignments?

for maintenance like oil change, brakes and stuff. and also i have front suspension clunking for some time that i want to get it fixed.

not looking for performance upgrades at the moment. but it would be good to know if there are shops around.

  2. The story continues...so this might help:

Took the car back to Pittsburgh and a real helpful dealer look at it. Shop foreman said there was nothing wrong with the car but was nice enough to take me in the garage and explain what he thought I was seeing. Turns out that my subfan was never the problem (ok no flaming please, I'm still a noob to the suby, or twin fans for that matter) the main fan (driver side) was the one coming on. Still something was wrong so I had the foreman drive the car with me inside and confirmed that the fan was staying on after an easy 10 minute drive and there was a problem.

So now, 4 weeks later they're going to replace the computer in the car

but we're not convinced that will solve the problem completely. Possible other causes:

    1)The main fan relay heats up and gets stuck or;

2)There is a short in the main fan that caused the problem the whole time

So if your in Pittsburgh, Day Subaru with Dave the service manager was really really good.

dude, this is exactly the same problem i'm having. driver side fan once on, it stuck on. I drove it onto high way and back, it still on.

The recall is posted at the beginning of this thread. Read it. There's nothing wrong with the fans, but with the fan control circuit in the ECM. Your issue is with fans, but not as a part of this recall.

 of curse the fans are working, otherwise i wouldn't be complaining. i took my car in today for fan relay recall, but seems it didn't fix the problem i was having. Anyway, since you're suggesting me to go somewhereles to disguess this problem because it's not fan relay related, i'll start a new thread.

  4. So there are 2 fans ? which one is being recalled ?

I had my car in for fan relay recall, but still, once the fan turns on, it will stay on. Although i'm not sure which fan it is, should i bring it back to dealer ? or is it normal for fan to stay on all time once it is on?

How i noticed the problem? If i pull hard in 1st and 2nd gear, the fan will come on, and stay on.

  5. #1) Review: Continental ContiExtremeContact (215/45/17 @ 40psi)

#2) Location: East Coast, New York City 5 bouroughs.

    #3) Driving: Highway, local commut.

#4) Usage: 50/50 highway compares to local.

#5) Previously: RE-92(poor traction causes ABS to act on more frequently, streching brake distance even more, could cost you your ride.)

#6) Continental Xtremecontact on my LGT is the best investment i ever made on my car, gives me confidence to drive around no matter dry or wet, braking is on bar with Dunlop sports5000. The scrate is to keep it at 40psi.

Talking about braking performance, i'm only familier with 3 other tires. Michilen pilot on 2001 Acura TL, these tires are one of the best all season tire, solid ride and braking. Dunlop sports5000 on 2005 benz ML350(4800lb). it's amazing how these tires can stop a 4800lb suv. And last is the RE-92 on both LGT and 240sx, not that they are worthless peice of sh1t, their performance is not on bar with their cost, $180/tire at tirerack; $220 at your local firestone, $260 after tax and mounting.
